Branden Albert, OG Virginia

We need a CB. Actually we need two starters as Henry has a poor service history. But you can only be so depth proof .

We need a starting WR. Optimally there is TG. If they can't depend on him and I see no medical reason why they couldn't have a decent idea of how servicable his knee is. If he has enough cartilage left then he should be good to go from a mechanical standpoint. But he has not proven he can play at a high level. Not once last year. So he's a question mark. Can a SB team with a need for a WR leave that up to chance. No. Since they didn't stretch to get a WR that says they are hopeful about TG. Then there is Crayton. He could breakout. Next year is the year for him. He will declare if he is a number two or just a good 3-4 WR. Then Stanback. He's a bigger question mark than TG because TG did play at a very high level once. They will try hard to get a rookie WR who can contribute next year. That means one of the top two picks IMO depending on whether they sign a FA before the draft. They will not pick stupid on either first rounder though.

Then there is RB. There is more leeway here than the first two. There is a good chance someone can be picked up at RB who can contribute. The more I've thought about it the more I think they should go after Dunn. He's a proven player who has another year in the bank. If I knew the Det guy better then perhaps I'd feel the same way about him. The good news is the draft if good enough for RBs that there should be one available in the bottom of the first round if there is not a CB or WR that blows their dress up. If they go WR/CB the first two picks then they can still pick up a guy who can run the ball with one of the next two picks and at least the second round.

But since I'm always wrong about draft picks past number five then I'd bet against everything I said.

I'm really hoping that this debate is academic, and the Skins take him at 21. We are desperate for some youth on the line.

You're right, but I don't see any way they'll go OL in the first round... it'll be either a DL or a WR, I'm pretty sure about that...
