Brandon Aubrey 55 yard field goal in pregame warmups

I know it is just warm ups, but Aubrey just kicked a 55 yard field goal in Seattle in the pregame warmups. The kid has the leg. He made 49 of 50 kicks in the USFL, including field goals and PATs - a 98% conversion rate. So, we know he can be accurate in games. But what we don’t know is if he has the mental strength to survive under the pressure of NFL games.

Not sure what you are talking about. I think it is fantastic the Cowboys have brought in Aubrey. The last thing I want to see is them spending a huge amount on an old kicker.

Maher was amazing all year. Then proceeded to miss everything in the playoffs lol. Kickers are impossible to predict

I'll be biting my nails every time he gets on the field until he proves he can do the job. Going into the season with that much uncertainty at a key position is not optimal to say the least.

I'm not sure what the standard in practice is supposed to be. It's practice.

I do know two things, tho. While we all get speculate, free country and all, the people whose standard matters are, so far, proving to have made a solid decision. And, two, if that changes, there's no one on the street who's leg isn't, um... on its last leg. Nay, three things. The next best option is a kicker in San Die... er... LA... who's going to be cut in about a week or so.

I liken this thread to that of my hitting a 5-wood 250 yards down the middle of the driving range consistently....but translating that to the actual course (in this case the playing field) is another thing altogether. Time will tell if he translates pre-game kicks with in-game kicks.
