What I saw was that Beebe can deal with the strength of NFL defensive linemen. He does not get shoved backwards like Biadasz did his rookie year. This is a huge upgrade over the OL last year.

Guyton need to get stronger in his upper body. I think he has the quickness to play well in the NFL, he just needs to get used to it. But it does look, from one game only, that he may need to get stronger.

I do agree both players have the potential to be very very good players for Dallas.

Solid videos. I think Beebe had a good game for either a rookie or 10 year vet. The only real area I see him struggling both in this game and during the preseason is with those second level blocks. This is something that could improve with more reps. He seems to be athletic enough to do it, but takes a lot of bad angles. As is highlighted in the 2nd video there were some bad protection calls which those could be on Beebe, but I haven't heard if he is the one making those calls. It could be Dak, they could have passed responsibility to the veteran Martin too, or have it some sort of group effort to ease Beebe into it.

Guyton I think people are looking at his performance through rose colored glasses because of his upside, and don't get me wrong his upside is massive. Hard to say that he had a good game without prefacing it with "hes a rookie" or "it was a tough matchup". Too much bending at the waste, he gets caught reaching, and was beaten multiple times with a straight bullrush. On the positive side he seems to have pretty good footwork, keeps his shoulders square, and simply does a lot of the fundamentals well which combined with his physical gifts, and attitude to battle make for a potential future all pro. I forget which video it was but one of them said that Guyton is likely to do a lot better against speed rushers than power guys, and I think that is spot on what we should expect early in his career, and pretty in line with what we saw Sunday.

If anyone needs an answer to why Jerry paid Dak $60m per year this game was a great example despite the lackluster stat line. For the record I spent all summer saying Dak was gone after this year so dont come in and call me a Dak homer either. This guy was 2nd in the league in time to throw at just 2.34 seconds. The only player with less time was Aaron Rodgers at 2.33, and I would assume the hundredth of a second difference could simply be a human error with the recordings. Dak did an excellent job of getting the ball out quick or else this would have probably been a 5 sack game for Cleveland. The QB and the gameplan really bailed out the rookie LT.

Great sign for both in week 1
Not only rookies but also starting at the 2 most important positions on the OL against really good competition
