What do you guys think of Brian Leonard (full back). Since we are moving back to a Turner style offense that uses the full back again, do you think we look his way. I know he wants to play tailback in the NFL, but I think his best shot is at fullback. Is he a great blocker? I heard that he has good hands, but did anyone get to watch him play. Also what round do you think he will go in? Thanks for the input.

He's more an Alstott than a Moose. He's got this silly idea in his head that he should get to run the ball.

Not really known for his blocking. I think if you want a true lead FB then Leron McClain from Alabama looks to be one of the few true lead backs.

In the second round i think he'd be a great value and a very good weapon in JG's O.

McClain's not exactly a punishing blocker either. He does have great hands. I think Cory Anderson is the best blocking FB in the draft, and he has a lot more upside than McClain.

I think Anderson or McClain are both very good lead blockers who could be drafted in the late in the draft in large part because not many teams are interested in big blocking FB

I watched him alot, love the Leonard Leap its amazing! he is not the fastest or most agile but he has great great hands, hes very smart, and has superb vision. I would love him in the 2nd round this year!

He may not be the fastest, but if I remember correctly, he ran a sub-4.5 at the Combine (or at his Pro Day, one or the other). That's pretty good (and good enough) considering his size.

I really like Leonard and was really high on him until he started climbing the boards so much. He is north-south runner, won't beat many people around the corner and isn't prolific at blocking, however he has moves for his size. He could be as good or better than Alstott. However, he could also be as good or worse than Konrad.

I would not mind trading down out fo the first if it meant.

Getting Leonard in the 2nd.
Getting Gonzalez in the 2nd.
Getting an extra first next year.

I would even trade Jujo for a pick next year and take Bush later in the draft.

There is also a chance Meriweather could be there at the top of the 2nd.

So if we traded down for lets say 2 - 2nd round picks instead - then we could end up with

Meriweather, Leonard, and Gonzalez.

1. Jason Garrett - Uses a Norv Turner-type offense.

2. Norv Turner - Uses an H-Back/F-Back type player in his offense.

3. Anthony Fasano - Drafted as an H-back/F-Back type player.

Fasano is a TE who was uses at time as an HB but he is not a true lead blocking FB nor has he ever done that.

No kidding. An H-back/F-back is not a true lead blocking FB.

By the way, F-Back does not mean Full Back. F-back is simply the term that Norv Turner uses for the role of H-back.

I think we should all wait and see what kind of offense Garrett puts together. Will it be a Norv Turner look-a-like? I don't know, but it might have some of the timing passes, and the power running, but it might also have some newer twists from the West Coast, since that is TO's strength. I don't think TO is much for a timing offense, but Glenn might be. Crayton would be good in the timing scheme I would think, and also Glenn, but TO is best running in the West Coast.

Barber might the best in a power running scheme, and Jones might be best in the off tackle slants and end runs.

It's going to be an interesting draft, because it is likely to portend the type of offense Garrett will be running.

If you want a good blocking FB, who is an exceptional runner (for FBs), then Leonard is your guy.
If you want a better blocking FB, who is extremely dangerous (for FBs) out of the backfield catching the ball but an average runner, then McClain is your guy.
If you want an even better blocking FB, who is average for a FB, at best, running and catching, then Anderson may be your guy.
