Broaddus's price to trade up for Hunter

No way. For one thing, that next year's #1 might be a really high one.

But also, Broaddus is insane if he thinks it would only cost your #2 and a 3 next year to move from 12 to the top 5. What is he thinking?
Hes using the trade chart (points system)

They ran this exercise on the last Draft Show.

2023 draft:
The Texans took Stroud at 2, then traded up from 12 (exactly where you are now), to move up to 3 (exactly where Hunter is projected to go). It cost them 12, a 2023 2nd round pick, and a 2024 1st round pick.

2021 draft:
San Francisco traded up from 12 (exactly where you are now), to 3 (exactly where Hunter is projected to go). It cost them 12, 2022 1st, 2023 1st. Price inflated by an additional 1st because it was a QB

2014 draft:
Bills trade up from 9 to 4 to take Sammy Watkins. Costs them 9th overall, 4th round pick, and 2015 1st

These people don’t know what they’re talking about. It cost you a 2nd just to trade up from 14 to 6 in 2012 for Morris Claiborne, and 3 is worth way more than 6

That doesn't seem realistic to me. Not based on recent years. Am I crazy?

Regardless, there will be too many good players at our second to pass that up.
I think itll be cheaper to move up this year, as opposed to years past, because of lack of blue chip talent and QBs in this class

Yeah the Giants would trade the third pick n the draft for 12 and 44 plus next year’s third. Get out of here ole crusty.

It also has to do with the player available. That has more impact than those trade value charts. Travis Abdul Cam and maybe 1-2 other guys are considered elite prospects in this draft. You would have create a trade package to convince NYG to accept drafting a lower tier prospect. It’s the exact reason it cost so much for Houston to take Will Anderson

Hunter would plausibly be 1st overall in a year where there weren’t QBs at the top. He’s gonna cost a lot.

For me to even consider this I have to be sure Hunter would be impactful at two positions. I do agree I expect next years one to be top 10. No doubt Jerry would consider it though on jersey sales alone.

The cost isn't as much as I thought.........

I'd rather give up next year's first than this year's second. The gamble you take is on improving after having an injury-plagued year.

Probably would have to give up both, though. But I'm not against trading up since I believe there are only four bona fide game-changers in this draft. (Yes, there will be others, but these are the ones expecting to be.)

Plus, we need a corner and wide receiver. Getting a player who can do both (but granted that he'd need rest on both sides of the ball) is worth the trade to me.

You probably have to move up to 3/4 at the latest to get Hunter. There is absolutely no chance it wouldn’t cost you 12 and next years 1st plus more.

Absolutely horrific idea for a roster that isn’t close to being ready for a playoff run.
