It makes no difference that one guy was the last pick in the draft. Is he playing like the last pick in the draft? It makes no difference that one guy didn’t have his rookie contract picked up and the other guy was benched in college. They’re all three developing into good NFL QBs that are playing at a high-level right now. It didn’t matter that Tom Brady was a sixth round pick or that Joe Montana was drafted in the third round. It didn’t matter that Terry Bradshaw got benched in favor of Joe Gilliam before the Steelers went on their Super Bowl run. It doesn’t matter that Dak was a fourth round pick and that most of his own fan base doesn’t like him and would rather have another QB.

Too much focus on a single position in a sport including many more players, coaches, playing conditions, situational awareness, etc.

Purdy was benched three times in college so your just a little off

You’re missing the point. Ain’t no Eli Manning or Aaron Rodgers this year. It’s wide open for the taking

That only gets you to the big game. He’s going to have beat another qb. Likely somebody significantly better than those you listed

Football is not golf. As a football fan, I want everyone on my favorite team bringing their A-game. I do not pour my total faith into the qualifications of my quarterback and the opposing quarterback. I have watched too many games where the BEST quarterback was on the losing team that was supposedly great. Similarly, I have seen overachieving teams win with a supposedly average quarterback.

Teams play the game for a reason. They do not line up opposing quarterbacks on opposite sides of the line of scrimmage and yell, "GO!" Some people constantly oversimplify a sport with too many moving parts by latching hold of one cog in the machine. My apologies. After awhile, it numbs the brain.

You’re missing my point. You’re going back to college with some of these QBs. You’re living in the past. Jalen Hurts has played at an MVP level this year. Daniel Jones has really come on this season and just got through playing possibly his best game of the season against Minnesota in the playoffs. Brock Purdy has led San Francisco to 11 straight wins. These QBs are playing as good as any QBs in the league.

"It's all about the QB" makes me shake my head. It's the single most important position, but it's not the only position.

This isn't basketball. The QB isn't on the field when the other team has the ball. There's a reason you don't see even great QBs winning titles with the 30th ranked defense.

I think you’re wrong and here’s why.

If you watch the aaron Rodgers fourth down play to cook again he just friggin flicked his wrist And it went like 40 yards on a dime. It felt justified to lose to a talent like that. How do you even stop that?

But this current group of qb’s? With our pass rushers? No excuse. Go out there and cause two fumbles and get the win

You’re missing that I’m intentionally missing your point. Which proves my point

Scoring defensive ranking has more statistical significance than which team has the better QB when it comes to wining the SB.
I've read somewhere that the team with the better scoring defense have won the SB past 10 years or something like that. If it was all about just the QB, Nick Foles would have not beat Tom Brady in the SB.

Daniel Jones is going to try and do too much
Jalen Hurts is not going to able to do enough
Brock Purdy is going to be expected to do too much
Dak Prescott is going to play within himself, trust his Coordinator and ball out.

The only way Dak is going to play within himself is if we can run the football. That’s going to be extremely difficult against the number 2 rushing defense. I have a bad feeling it’s going to be like trying to run into a brick wall again San Francisco. We’re likely going to have to throw the ball to win.

Yes, Dak will need a big game with his arm, but if the Cowboys abandon the run and essentially become one dimensional, they will have a very low probability of winning.

I agree they can’t totally abandon it, but we can’t afford to get in a lot of third and long situations. If they completely stuff the run, we’re going to have to make some plays in the passing game. That could help open up some running lanes. I would like to see Dak continue to use his legs. He plays his best football when he runs more. Get Pollard involved with some short passes where he can find some space.
