Good postDane Brugler's Beast guide is out.
It is worth the cost of The Athletic subscription by itself and the site is a great source of Sports news.
If you find a cheap intro rate hop on it, IMO.
I lean heavy into his guide as a de facto ranking.
Alas...
As a Dallas fan what I want to see on Draft Day.
1. 4 QBs go off the board before 15. He has 4 ranked above 25.
2. 6 Edge go off he board by 26. He has 5 ranked above 25 but I'd like to see one more go as a team reaches for a position that is going fast.
3. 4 CB go before 26. He has 4th ranked as player 27 but it is a premium position.
If the above happens:
You could have yourself the choice of a falling OL who starts day 1, falling TE to start day 1, high P5 stud WR, or RB he rates WELL above 25th best prospect. OR you complete the defense with a DT that starts day 1.
What I consider legit targets in BOLD.
1. BRYCE YOUNG QB1 Alabama
2. WILL ANDERSON JR. EDGE1 Alabama
3. JALEN CARTER DT1 Georgia
4. C.J. STROUD QB2 Ohio State
5. CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ CB1 Oregon
6. BIJAN ROBINSON RB1 Texas
7. PETER SKORONSKI OG1 Northwestern
8. TYREE WILSON EDGE2 Texas Tech
9. DEVON WITHERSPOON CB2 Illinois
10. LUKAS VAN NESS EDGE3 Iowa
11. NOLAN SMITH EDGE4 Georgia
12. PARIS JOHNSON JR. OT1 Ohio State
13. ANTHONY RICHARDSON QB3 Florida
14. WILL LEVIS QB4 Kentucky
15. BRODERICK JONES OT2 Georgia
16. JOEY PORTER JR. CB3 Penn State
17. BRIAN BRANCH SAF1 Alabama
18. JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA WR1 Ohio State
19. MICHAEL MAYER TE1 Notre Dame
20. DALTON KINCAID TE2 Utah
21. MYLES MURPHY EDGE5 Clemson
22. JAHMYR GIBBS RB2 Alabama
23. BRYAN BRESEE DT2 Clemson
24. DARNELL WRIGHT OT3 Tennessee
25. JORDAN ADDISON WR2 USC
26. CALIJAH KANCEY DT3 Pittsburgh
I keep having a similar thought. If they all were available to us & you consider Bijan a special talent, I think you pick one of the others and get your RB later and at the end of the draft your total class will be greater than a class where you took Bijan at 26.Good post
As much as I like Bijan.......no way in hell Darnell Wright AND Broderick Jones are passing 26
No question......that fact they both can play T and guard? Easy decisionI keep having a similar thought. After reading the King thing you posted, nothing should be a surprise.Good post

Wait for Jerry to give us a flash of our board.Dallas has 18 first round grades?
Who are the 18?
Quite a discrepancy between Brugler and Zierlein on WR'sDane Brugler's Beast guide is out.

That exact logic could cause Robinson to fall considerably.A ton of 3rd/4th rd grades with the backs, no need to force a RB early.
In such a situation, a trade down seems really tasty. Unless (obviously) they have one of the guys rated much higher than the others, or they really want that 5th-year option and can't find a partner between 27 and 32.If the above happens:
You could have yourself the choice of a falling OL who starts day 1, falling TE to start day 1, high P5 stud WR, or RB he rates WELL above 25th best prospect. OR you complete the defense with a DT that starts day 1.
It is interesting but Hyatt and Flowers are both traits guy that may need a year.Quite a discrepancy between Brugler and Zierlein on WR's
Zierlein having: Hyatt, Downs and Flowers
Brugler having:Addison
King appears correct on the lack of consensus WR pick and a lot will depend on need and scheme.
@cnuball21 you may get your wish, depending upon whom we (and other teams) like.
Think the best players will be of defense, but I like the two TE's you mentioned. That exact logic could cause Robinson to fall considerably.
Same with the top TEs.
Gut tells me the pick is Kincaid or Mayer.
Where did you get this info from?Dallas has 18 first round grades?
Who are the 18?
I want one of the four in bold, but would be OK settling for the four not in bold. Just really want to attack the trenches. Of course, I'm not saying pass up the higher-ranked prospect, but it seems much more likely that one of the ones I want will be there when we pick.6. BIJAN ROBINSON RB1 Texas
