Like a wayward Wolverine, Bryan Singer is returning to the X-Men fold, closing a deal Tuesday to direct the next film in the franchise, X-Men: Days of Future Past, EW has confirmed. He replaces X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn, who stepped back from the director’s chair last week for unspecified reasons, though he will reportedly stay on as a producer and screenwriter.

Judging from reactions to X2 and X3, I can't imagine the fanboys are happy with this.

X2 is one of the best superhero movies ever and Singer didn't even direct X3.

X3 ruined that the franchise but I'm glad we get a First Class sequel. Second best one behind X2

I have yet to figure out what is so great about him. He left the X-men franchise to do a Superman one, and that failed. I am just glad, he never got the opportunity to direct any Star Trek movies, although he made a cameo in one.

As for Supes Returns, yeah the budget was too big for what was given. Did not live up to the hype.
