Knowing how much Jerry leans on his coordinators for draft input remember these names over the last 10 years;
Some may ask ....where's McClay? Just me, but I'm not he has as much input/weight on 1st round picks. Think that's all Jerry, head coach ( Garrett ), and defensive/offensive coordinator.

Hard to believe we have NOT given a 2nd contract to a 1st round defensive player in over 10 years. In fact, wanna guess who it was? DeMarcus Ware drafted 2005 ( new deal 2009 ). Anthony Spencer was tagged twice but never got the long deal

Dan Quinn
Quinn is the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys since the 2021 season. Quinn's record as the team's defensive coordinator was 12-5-0, making him the second-most successful defensive coordinator in Dallas Cowboys history. The team made it to the playoffs one time (2021) and had a 0-1 record under Coach Quinn in playoff games.

Mike Nolan
Nolan was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2020 season. Nolan's record as the team's defensive coordinator was 6-10-0, making him the least successful defensive coordinator in Dallas Cowboys history.

Rod Marinelli
Marinelli was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014-2019 seasons, a total of six years. The team made it to the playoffs three times (2014, 2016, 2018) and had a 2-3 record under Coach Marinelli in playoff games.

Monte Kiffin
Kiffin was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2013 season. Kiffin's record as the team's defensive coordinator was 8-8-0, making him the third-least successful defensive coordinator in Dallas Cowboys history.

Rob Ryan
Ryan was the defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2011-2012 seasons, a total of two years. Ryan's record as the team's defensive coordinator was 16-16-0, making him the third-least successful defensive coordinator in Dallas Cowboys history.

The Cowboys history of first-round defensive flops prove how lucky they are to have Micah Parsons
The first-round defensive investments just having worked out for the Cowboys over the years, but Parsons will have a say in changing that.

DeMarcus Ware was also a Bill Parcells pick... Great stuff though and yes Dan Quinn is amazing.
Quinn knows how to find the players who aren't afraid to tackle, play with a different intensity.
I mean just look at the guys Quinn handpicked to come over to Dallas through free agency, all of them played great last season.
Also why I think that Fowler Jr. free agency move will be really special. (check out Fowler's 2019 stats!)

Wasn't sure where to put this .....draft or fan zone

The trash would be a good choice. This guy’s writing sucks, and the ‘case’ he tries to make is incredibly weak.

I had hoped that BTB had gotten rid of him for good but I guess we can’t be so lucky.

Hang on....are we giving Quinn the credit for Micah or giving thanks to Denver?

hahahah I see what you did there, but not so fast..... Surtain + Diggs would've still be an insane duo and our defense would have been tremendously upgraded. Quinn wins either way.
Parsons is just unreal, which many of us in this forum said Parsons was the best player in the draft. I said he was Von Miller 2.0 and a future Hall of Famer. With that said, I though Parsons would be gone top 5 and definitely wouldn't make it past Denver. But here we are.

I wonder if Quinn has a number of "must have names" in the draft, acknowledging that O-line is the priority but he's got some players (like Sam Williams or DT) that if available he can have (if fall to reasonable Rds).
We do have CAP money for emergency positions if the draft takes an unexpected route...which is more likely than ever this year, and as you say last year the debate was Surtain or Horn.

Ware wasn't Parcells pick, he wanted Merriman and actually had Spears ahead of both.

There is no doubt they have struggled to take quality defensive players in rd 1. They are the best at drafting offensive lineman and wide receivers. Bing Bing, that's where they are probably heading towards this yr. If they reach on the #6 DE, we should all hold our breath.

I do think we are going OLine, TE, maybe flashy Burks or Olave but Offense is what it seems.

I'd be scared of #6 DE and I don't think we need edge (DLaw, Parsons, Fowler and all the other guys).

WIth that said..... I hope we do go Defense... a safety or corner, or just best defensive player that drops.
We could potentially start building a win first defense which I've always wanted to see in Dallas.
We're so close, this is the year. Quinn is our best coach. Our offense has issues that aren't going to be
fixed in this draft.

DL, OL or WR appears to be their top priorities early with LB/TE later on unless a top prospect falls to them.

I didn’t think Parsons was going to be what he is and glad I was wrong. It’s true Parsons was plan B I’ll take it

This may be a reach but I wonder if Hill and Adam's contract may have any impact on their thinking knowing Lamb's new deal is a couple of years away? That could mean $25M or more.......

They are clearly the top 2 in the game, don’t think Lamb will get anything close to 30 million per yr

Really? There is no reason why CeeDee can’t have an 100 catch season if used properly. After the first 6 games last season, he was statistically neck a neck with Jefferson. I would be disappointed if he does not have a Dez like all pro season.

Adams/Hill are far and above the best receivers in the game right now. Lamb is a good young player, but he isn't going to command 30 million per season.

Hey Watson got 230 million guaranteed and he is basically a more athletic Dak with baggage. If you think quarterbacks are like comparing apples to oranges we can talk about Christian Kirk. Lamb’s agent will not be taking a home town discount.

To be fair he is pretty par for what they have been turning out. After that initial group broke up, BTB content has seriously declined. Most of their writers seem like carbon copies of Tom Ryle, who is known for being a homer and hyping up late round picks like Bill Nagy and Ben Gardner

Tom Ryle is one of the few writers there who I feel does good work. For me, he’s far less of a homer than guys like this one.
