There’s a new wide receivers coach in town.

Earlier this week it was reported that the Dallas Cowboys had their eyes set on Adam Henry to be the new wide receivers coach under head coach Mike McCarthy. While reports are one thing nothing is ever concrete until it’s finalized. While the cement doesn’t appear to be totally dry it does seem as if this is far more likely to happen than not. ESPN’s Todd Archer reported on Friday evening that Henry is expected to fill the team’s wide receivers coach position.


Adam Henry, who spent last season with the Cleveland Browns, is expected to be the Cowboys receivers coach, according to a source. Henry talked with the Cowboys this week about the opening to replace Sanjay Lal, who was under contract for two more years. Henry’s addition means Mike McCarthy has a lead coach at every position. Leon Lett remains a possibility to return as the assistant defensive line coach.

Henry has most recently spent time with the Cleveland Browns which means he’s coming from working with Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. In Dallas, there’s Michael Gallup at wideout plus the options of Amari Cooper and/or Randall Cobb if the team is able to bring them back.

McCarthy obviously has his reasons for moving on from Sanjay Lal and moving to Adam Henry. He appears to have control over his staff which is a very good thing.
