Phillips is really starting to hit his stride for the Fins. He’s tallied 5.0 sacks in the past four games (6.5 on the year), with an outside shot at 10 before the season ends.

I thought he had elite traits coming out of U. of Miami but had a shroud of injury concerns. The Fins got an absolute steal at #18.

I know he was a guy that a lot of folks here wanted. I would say it worked out well for the Dolphins and for us.

Former top-ranked high school prospect with elite athletic traits. Had some medical issues early at UCLA (https://bleacherreport.com/articles...hillips-will-medically-retire-due-to-injuries) and there were some questions about his desire to play football (https://news.miami.edu/stories/2020...laying-field-includes-football-and-music.html) but once he re-committed to playing football and found a home at the U, he lived up to his prep ranking.

Size-and atheticism-wise, he reminds me a lot of Randy Grgeory.

i think having Gregory/D Law at DE and Kearse/Hooker at safety for a few more years can really free us up to look at other positions like OL, DT, LB, WR, CB with our next draft esp since we will be picking lower down in each round

these are becoming important FA signings

Phillips tape was a joy to watch last year, and it figures he's having success...only issue was his medical.

He was my top defender in the draft. I haven’t got to watch much of him.

If Parsons wasn’t what he is right now I’d be severely disappointed we didn’t go for Phillips.

Funny reading Dolphin fans thoughts weeks 1-5 to recent.

Every fan base is ready to label any rookie a bust if they don't come out with splash plays out the gate,

I watched him a couple times early, and he really struggled.

One of the the things I enjoy about young talent is that it can be very unpredictable. Its fun watching the light come on seeming out if nowhere

It took like 4 years before Demarcus Lawrence finally had a breakout season.

DL rarely come out the gate playing great football unless they are just great players.

Yes I remember us discussing him predraft.

without the injury concerns absolutely a top 5 talent. And it is certainly showing on the field now.
