I believe Avila will be the pick and they will take him at 26. They likely won’t find a trade partner and will have to take him there or risk losing him. No way he last to 58 and the team loves Avila.
And I get it. I just think they're making a mistake...a guard will be there or should be. And if not? Draft it later on or next year..........I don't think they're getting the best value for their pick if they do that.

For Dallas, they love that position flexibility. Their sell is he can play LG this year and slide to C next season of Biadasz walks
I think Avila is going to go a lot higher than the media thinks he is.
Pretty much this is how I feel. Reminds me of how Tyler Smith was in this territory last year but ended up going to us and other teams were after him in the first

Brooks has done the articles on Dallas Cowboys.com but he's probably not going off any inside information.

I think that they could find a trade partner. Especially if Hendon Hooker is still available.

That would need to be a trade down situation.
Why do people worry more about getting good value, than getting good players at positions of need?
Remember when everyone flipped out when they took Travis Fredrick in rd 1? What a terrible pick! They should have waited and taken him in rd 3! The Cowboys front office doesn't know what's it's doing!
And he goes on to be a day 1 starter, pro bowler and all pro, all in his rookie season.
If the guy can play and play well, it's never a reach. And definitely not because some mock draft board has him projected in the 35-50 range.

This is why I feel Avila is the guy at 26.

Frederick? Thought was a reach
Martin? Thought they should’ve went QB
Tyler Smith? Thought he was a reach

If he’s your guy and you like him, you take him and don’t risk losing him.

he picked a different player in every mock.
Maybe he listed a player the Cowboys might like in each. I know sometimes they try to make their last mock the most accurate but who knows.

If that’s what the team does, it isn’t ideal but I get it.

Sometimes if you really like a guy you have to pull the trigger a little earlier than you want to. I think they’ll pick another player at 26 but then I don’t know how much they value Avila.

If they really love the guy, they may do it.

I would be fine with it.

Yeah it’s maybe a bit too high for him. But he is gonna be a day 1 starter and should be a quality starting guard.

It does depend on who else is available though. That’s only if they get washed out of the first round rated prospects and it’s nothing but second round graded guys left.

The chatter from Cowboys insiders was high on Avila early now I hear nothing. Who really knows I guess. I just don’t think the Cowboys go offensive linemen two years in a row in the first. Not their MO.

If I am dead set on taking an OL at 26, I'm taking John Michael Schmitz.
He has just as much guard-center position flex as Avila and is actually worth using the 26th pick on.
I think he will be pro bowl level at center and a huge upgrade over Biadaz.
