Where's the cupholder and donut cushion? The old office chair I bought used in 2013 keeps giving me trouble. These heavy-duty screws keep coming out, and I have to flip the chair and screw them back in. And it creaks and complains as if saying, "Oh, why must you sit on me all day?" So I've finally pulled the trigger on a new one, the one in this photo here. It will be delivered some time this week. The old chair just needs to hold up a little longer.
I didn't chince. This is a nice one.
Seems like my office is going through a standing trend now. People are standing more at their desk. Don't know if they are imitating others or proving they are tougher than others or if it is actually better for the back and body to stand. I haven't given standing a chance yet. Some people still sit on those big balls.
That huge chair may cost more than the tiny computer on the desk.
Just how far away is your outhouse? Also before every work day, I get up and go on a long walk.
the creaking is usually the bearing race or support cracking internally under the base of the seat. Any time you spin or rock back it puts pressure on that and it seems to be a common failure.
for your new chair see if they sell the rocking/pivot assembly (don't know what it's called) separately. If the new chair starts doing this 1-2 years down the road you might be able to just replace that portion rather than buy a whole new chair.I just need it to last till the new one gets here -- probably about Friday and no later than Monday.
