Run Dak Run! We saw it last week for what felt like the first time this season. He's always been a mobile QB. Once ran for 1,000 yards in a college season. He's not a great pocket passer. Consider almost every one of his career 26 rushing TDs was in the red zone, it will improve this area too.
  • Cowboys are 21-4 when Dak has a rushing TD in a game.
  • Cowboys are 25-8 when Dak has 5+ rushing attempts in a game.
  • Cowboys are 16-18 when Dak has 2 or less rushing attempts in a game.
After watching Cleveland's defense dismantle Purdy and the 49ers it made me wonder why both Dallas and Cleveland, two defenses that were leading defensive team stats in almost every category not long ago, had such different results. Which starting defensive line below is the Browns and Cowboys? First 2 are DEs with most snaps, next 2 are DTs with most snaps. Hint: Cowboys are the undersized one. Wonder if we'll ever be able to overcome being a small, fast defense in the Playoffs?
  • A: 6'3" 265 lbs, 6'3" 245 lbs, 6'2" 280 lbs, 6'2" 320 lbs
  • B: 6'4" 272 lbs, 6'4" 275 lbs, 6'4" 303 lbs, 6'3" 325 lbs
Does a Dallas Cowboy ever come back from serious injury? Jerry needs to re-consider these contract renewals on damaged goods.
  • Newest ones this year are Marcus Steele, graded as almost the worst RT in NFL in PFF this year. Jourdan Lewis.
  • Michael Gallup still not performing. 18 receptions on 32 targets. 50/50 at best for a catch.
  • Dak Prescott. See above. Lost his run, and never been the same.
  • Tony Pollard. First time in 5 years with less than 4.0 ypc. Only broke one run above 25 thus far. Last year 11 broken tackles. Only 2 so far this year. Didn't see any comments on this, but anyone worried he was run down by the DB on an open field run last week?

i think pollard is being used wrong right now, and asante samuel is a fast dude.
Never liked we signed gallup and got rid of cooper, especially after injury. JLew hopefully needs some time to get back into form, hes missed some decent time and hopefully Steele can do the same.

Dak is a weird one, i honestly thought he recovered well after the broken leg, but he seemed to do something to that calf thats been lingering or something. in '21 he came out guns blazing and in mvp talks, since he tweaked it or w/e in the patriots game hes been really hot n cold.

I didn't know Asante Jr.'s normal speed so didn't make more of it. I'll take your word if it's not unusual for him to run down one of the fastest RBs in the league.

Yes, def looking like we should have worked with Coop somehow and kicked Gallup to the curb. And have hope also that Lewis and Steele will improve.

Samuel ran a 4.48 at the combine. I do not see this are being exceptionally fast. Tony Pollard ran a 4.52 in 2019.

It looks to me like Pollard has slowed down a bit, the difference between taking that 59 yard catch to the house and getting tackled on the 15. In 2021 Pollard had a catch and run where he hit over 21 MPH, one of the fastest speeds clocked in the NFL that year. Not many guys in the NFL could catch him. But he has been caught from behind on multiple occasions this year.

That's disheartening to hear. Much less broken tackles too, which if I reviewed all of them last year, I'm sure I would see speed playing a part in many of those.

Cap boy loves “cheap deals” on these injuries guys cause he thinks it makes him look like a shrewd businessman
That's what I'm afraid of. Shocked we haven't locked up AB to a 3 year guaranteed contract yet. ;)

Gallup is a big disappointment , last year at least we gave him benefit of doubt , rushed back from injury , but this year he has no excuses. He is getting mauled at LOS , not physical at all, and do not posses top speed and suspect hands too. Time to use Tolbert and see if he can be more

Without a short yardage specialist, the Cowboys have little choice, they have to use him.
