Used The Draft Network's simulator.

· 11. Dallas Cowboys Kyle Pitts TE, Florida

Was too good to pass up and top defensive targets were off the board. Cowboys offense now has weapons everywhere, defenses will be stressed on every down. Pitts can play inside or outside, allowing the Cowboys playcaller to move him along with Lamb, Cooper, and Gallup anywhere on the field creating several mismatches.

· 43. Dallas Cowboys Tyson Campbell CB, Georgia
Georgia-v-Vanderbilt-a5d6b2250d3e727cf47e5cb43c88e3f1.jpg

Cornerback value was running out so had to jump in and grab a guy here. Campbell will remind some of Diggs, great athleticism and quickly gets in and out of breaks, but technique and eye discipline can be suspect at time.

· 75. Dallas Cowboys Trevon Moehrig S, TCU

Couldn’t believe has was still available. The centerfielder this defense has lacked for years. Would be ecstatic here.

· 99. Dallas Cowboys Baron Browning LB, Ohio State
Baron-Browning-Tulane-1170x780.jpg

Long, athletic linebacker who reminds me of the 49ers Fred Warner. Will compete for SAM job right away, could be long-term solution at WILL.

· 112. Dallas Cowboys Bubba Bolden S, Miami

Wasn’t planning on double dipping at Safety but value was too good to pass up. Competes with Donovan Wilson for the Strong Safety job.

· 136. Dallas Cowboys Tedarrell Slaton IDL, Florida

Big-bodied 1Tech with great strength and power. Just what we need for the front 4.

· 174. Dallas Cowboys Khyiris Tonga IDL, BYU

I was always planning on double dipping at DT. Tonga offers a little more explosiveness than Slaton. Feel confident I have two guys to handle all the 1Tech reps moving forward.

· 185. Dallas Cowboys Amari Rodgers WR, Clemson

I’m a big believer in drafting WR’s every year and Rogers is great value here. Slot guy who can return punts, will be a nice compliment to already impressive WR group.

· 219. Dallas Cowboys Obinna Eze OT, Memphis
Obinna-Eze-768x512.jpg

6’8” and 315 pounds, he has the frame to add mass. Nice developmental player who can learn over the next few years.

· 232. Dallas Cowboys Tyree Johnson EDGE, Texas A&M

A bit of gamble but if I’m gambling, give me the SEC pass rusher. Johnson has shown a quick get-off and the ability to turn the corner.

I would be doing backflips if we came away with those prospects:

-At least for one season, 11 personnel with Pitts and our 3 receivers would be must see TV. Don't need to sell me on the pick as he would instantly help our red zone offense which has struggled badly over the last few seasons. Yes, Cowboy #1 yards last yr, but look where they were in pts scored, middle of the league. Team would have a lot of flexibility moving forward.

-Cowboys would almost have to draft a corner in rd 2 due to lack of depth at the position. Who knows which options will be available, do like that you added an outside cb, rather then one of those slot guys.

-No chance you are getting Moehrig, Browning at those slots, as I think both come off the board in rd 2, might even be higher for Moehrig. Bolden makes more sense with his slotting.

-Like the idea of drafting 2 NT's. They need to change over the personnel to effectively run a different scheme.

It's why I use the simulators so I have no say who's available in each round.

When the simulators are unrealistic, I stop using them.

The Draft Network and PFN seem fairly realistic right now. First Pick and FanSpeak can get a bit wonky.

For comparison's sake, I just did a mock at PFN, which does not currently include compensatory picks.

· 11. Caleb Farley CB Virginia Tech

· 47. Alijah Vera-Tucker OG USC

· 77. Alim McNeill DT North Carolina State

· 108. Bubba Bolden S Miami (FL)

· 169. Marlon Tuipulotu DT USC

· 205. Reggie Roberson WR SMU

You can only use what we have. You are right some are better then others. I think we also need to take in account, there will be risers and fallers throughout the off-season, draft process. The 2nd simulation seems a bit more realistic. Personally, I find it better to do a mock projection based on slot range, then using a draft simulator.

I see that Bolden is one of your pet cats, where do you see his best fit? Strong Safety? Does he have the ability to play both?

Hopefully, tomorrow we have a better idea where the team will be drafting. It wouldn't surprise me if we lost to the Giants and are in the top 10 once again.

I think we will be drafting lower than #11 and Pitts may be gone by then.

No offense but I like the first one better even though I do like Farley.

This is great, but after Pitts I don’t think any of these guys are available where you have them being picked.
