calidad

now that tostitos are 3.50 to 4.00 dollars a bag i've been on the lookout for cheaper priced chips.

calidad is 1.67 for a 14 oz bag here in texas.

they are damn good imo.

made in irving, texas by the way.:)

anyone tried them?

also...santitas now makes white corn tortilla chips that are good as well.

We've been buying the santitas here lately. Great for the price. My daughter mows through chips and salsa like nobody's business...

try Donkey Chips, they are pretty good, but imo they need a little bit more salt

Tostitos pricing has gotten a bit out of hand.

I prefer to make my own ;)

Greatest reason in the world to buy a bag of these, open them and let them sit for 24-48 hours until stale, then do the following:

Chilaquiles En Salsa Verde

Ingredients:
1 bag Tortilla chips; stale
1 C Salsa verde
3/4 - 1 C Chicken, cooked and shredded. (Rotisserie, grilled or baked chick works great for this.)
Sour cream, thick
Queso fresco; crumbled
Onion; finely chopped
Guacamole
2-4 eggs, beaten

Directions:
  • In a frying pan heat the sauce, and when it is bubbling, add the tortilla pieces, chicken and cook 3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and fold in the beaten eggs. Fold quickly so they don't scramble immediately.
  • Pour into a dish and cover with the sour cream, and cheese.
  • Broil until the cheese melts and serve, topped with the onion and guac.
