I saw this live and loved it. I really miss Dez, he really was the only player that brought this type of intensity from recent memory. We don't have any players right now that bring this type of fight/enthusiasm to the game. I hoped Parsons would have evolved into that type of player, but he seems more interested in his podcast than being a vocal leader.

I don't get some of the responses in this thread. For years and years people have been saying he should be on the Cowboys coaching staff. He could clearly help with more than the WR's. Considering the current state of the team, he would be a welcome addition.

They need that in practice. Irvin would make Aikman throw to him until he puked and then would make him throw more. Of course, some of the puking may have been from activities from the night before but this current team plays like they practice. Irvin made guys practice hard.

Are they walking away from him? Today's players would...meeting the greats is cool and many would welcome conversation and photo ops, but this cheerleader stuff from an outsider that isn't there with them at practice, in the film room, in the training room, locker room etc.. it's all for show and for the fans....especially, when that same player goes on TV and rips them.

Exactly. Young players today ain't trying to hear none of that. Only old guys think yelling at players is going to somehow motivate them. Mike Zimmer is known for his fiery disposition and yelling at players. OP should go ask Zimmer how that is working out for him.

Who said he should be a coach? That seems like a horrible idea. But, I'm all for a pre game motivational speech to get guys in a football mind set if he does it as a fan or ambassador

Don't think professionals get as motivated as much from these speeches, but we had this in dez/TO and others etc CD and Dak and others were pretty heated with the ravens game and they finished that game strong and seemed to help in the NY game.. i know there was a post about it but I like Dak yelling JUMP OFF if you want, at fans and media on the way through the tunnels, he seemed mad and i liked it, he came out in NY razor sharp and he and CD were on point..

I mean these players are damned if they do, dammed if they don't.

they call them sideline distractions, seem to be called whiners, selfish ,and a me person but really i enjoy it when they do this stuff. could use that occasionally at halftime of some of these games.. get a Charles Haley helmet through a wall moment. :))
