They should trade. They are screwed regardless because of what they did at the qb position.
They made their choice. They made the same choice every other team in the NFL does. Pay a QB that isn't elite top money. We'll do it again next year. If I'm Arizona, I'll stay right where I am unless someone offers me something ridiculous to trade back.

Washington GM (while leering at cheerleader DVD being passed around the office): "Hey Monti, do you guys still pick at 3? I haven't really been paying attention the last few days. Boss has us watching DVDs."

Ossenfort: "Uh, yeah. Still pick at that spot. We're busy working with the publicist to make sure we trash Terry McDonough in every public statement. Let me give you my burner number if you really need to reach me."

Washington GM: "Cool. Gotta go. Snyder's calling me to discuss which set of books we should start shredding."

Ossenfort (to Schefter an hour later): "Getting all sorts of calls about this third pick!"

Schefter: "I need clicks and follows!"

If a team is moving up to #3 another QB is most likely the pick.

Get 4 QBs taken before our pick and we'll surely have a top 20 player fall to us.
So your benefit analysis depends on that calling team being Buffalo, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Philadelphia or Kansas City? Otherwise the QB going at 3 or 12 or 20 doesn't really make a difference with regards to pick 26.

It means a team picking before us is now much more likely to go QB at #3.

If 3 QBs are the first 3 picks, most likely a 4th is going to be picked before us, maybe even 5.

Stroud, Young, Levis, Richardson.

Panthers, Texans. Colts, Lions, Raiders, Falcons, Vikings, Titans, Jets (without Rogers), Washington, Bucs, and Ravens are all eyeing QB. The first 4 gone will cause one of those teams to reach for another QB.

4 QBs are going off the board before 26 regardless if the 3rd pick is traded.

Most, if not all the teams contacting the Cardinals for the pick is picking ahead of the Cowboys anyway.

Teams that want that Arizona pick are targeting Will Anderson or Jalen Carter.

I'd watch for a QB to go at that spot. I can see a team like the Colts, Titans, Raiders, or even the Seahawks making a move for either Levis or Richardson. I think the Colts are the least likely to trade as they'll take whichever QB is still on the board, but the other 3 have QB needs. I know Seattle has Geno Smith, but I could still see a move at QB being made.

So why does it matter if they are picked in the top 4 or the top 25? Either scenario has them gone before Dallas picks.
