Traded with the Lions 26 for 29 and 92

29. Tyler Guyton OT Oklahoma
Height: 6 - 7 |Weight: 326 lbs

Tyler Guyton only started five games in 2022, but he immediately jumps off the screen as a polished blocker with 14 total games played in three seasons. Playing right tackle across from 2023 first-round pick Anton Harrison, Guyton was a natural pass blocker with refined patience. He's a standout athlete who can effortlessly pivot from one target to another when he needs to. Guyton is a nasty run blocker who will pancake a defender when he has the chance. There's room for improvement with how he engages with his hands in the run game so they can't slip off his grip, and he must take better angles when landmarking upfield. Nevertheless, Guyton has a high upside and first-round potential

56. Leonard Taylor DT Miami (FL)
Height: 6 - 4 |Weight: 305 lbs

Since breaking out as a true freshman in 2021, Leonard Taylor III has five sacks and 19 TFLs to his name, along with an interception as a bonus.. As a former five-star recruit, Taylor wears 305 pounds about as well as a player can. His athletic 6’3″ frame affords him a great deal of alignment versatility, which he uses to his advantage. Many of Taylor’s pressures come from angle confusion, athleticism, and pure effort — he’s still trending up with his operational consistency — but he’s a rapid processor off the snap who can channel power with his hands and violently exploit leverage.

87. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. LB Clemson
Height: 6 - 0 |Weight: 230 lbs

One year after Clemson boasted Trenton Simpson on the NFL Draft stage, the Tigers have two more potential early-round LB prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. — son of an All-Pro NFL linebacker of the same name — comes in as our second-ranked LB on our preliminary rankings. Another season of production could lock Trotter in this range. In 2022, Trotter put up 89 tackles, 13.5 TFLs, 6.5 sacks, two picks, and five deflections. At 6’0″, 230 pounds, he’s a dense, well-leveraged linebacker over the middle of the field who offers great instincts and awareness for his age. He has a natural feel for how to combat, evade, and bend around blocks, and he’s a very reliable tackler with sturdy form and closing burst. Early on in 2023, he's also weaponized his searing explosiveness to provide pass-rushing value

92. Bucky Irving RB Oregon
Height: 5 - 10 |Weight: 194 lbs

Without a doubt, Bucky Irving has breakaway speed that can cover up significant flaws or mistakes. Sometimes that's an issue, as Irving will bounce outside the tackle box when he doesn't need to, but it can still pay off. Irving is competitive and works to keep plays alive effectively. He keeps his eyes up, scanning for a rushing lane when one isn't obvious. Though Irving has trouble slowing down quickly to change direction and will sometimes run into a blocker, he's decisive and won't take many tackles for loss. A strong inside-zone or outside-zone team should love Irving's ability to hit big plays and stress defenses. He could become a starter on a pass-heavy team that wants a variance back who is a major receiving threat as well.

173. Drake Nugent OC Michigan
Height: 6 - 1 |Weight: 300 lbs

After season's end Nugent transferred to Michigan where as a fifth year senior Nugent saw action in 13 games and played a total of 729 snaps for the Wolverines. He allowed 7 QB hurries, one QB hit, and no sacks while playing at center. Showing some nastiness to his game, Nugent will sustain blocks through the whistle, thriving when he’s in the phone booth. Outstanding in the screen game, both because of his instincts to deceive defenders and mobility to get out in front and land blocks. Coordinated when moving to the second level as a run blocker, capable of landing blocks on the move. Nugent has a high football IQ, handling protection calls at the line of scrimmage.

213. Decorian Patterson CB UCF
Height: 5-11 |Weight: 188 lbs

A late bloomer, Patterson really caught the attention of NFL scouts this past season, playing all over the field at a very high level. He established himself as a lockdown boundary cornerback, relying on his quick instincts and recovery speed. While he tends to provide a bit of extra cushion underneath in coverage, Patterson rarely ever gives up the big play while making quite a few of his own. He brings the ‘juice,’ and teammates feed off his energy.

231. Dominique Hampton S Washington
Height: 6 - 2 |Weight: 227 lbs

Dominique Hampton is one of the dwindling super-seniors left on rosters. Hampton came into his own more last season, producing a career-high 42 tackles and four pass breakups. At 6'2" and 220 pounds, he stands out due to his great size. He's not been overly productive beyond tackles, but he's impressively fast and capable of lining up against slot receivers and tight ends. He's highly competitive at the catch point and as a tackler.

242. Jackson Mitchell LB UConn
Height: 6 - 2 |Weight: 225 lbs

The part of the game that stands out for Jackson Mitchell is that every time you turn on a UConn game, Mitchell makes a big play. He is very instinctual and a capable athlete who has recorded 100+ tackles in each of the last two seasons. His big play rate, which is a combination of tackles for loss, sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries, was a 2.7% rate – very, very high for a defender who played over 1000 snaps last season.

Guyton is a great pick.

No thanks to Taylor. Do not want at all.

Your next few picks are all undersized for their positions. I know Irving has some jets but I'm not a fan.

I've known Dominique since he was a kid; I coached his brother DJ in college. He was a highly recruited Corner coming out of Centennial, which is a powerhouse program west of Phoenix. I very much wanted him to blow up this year. Go watch the National Championship and focus on Dom's tackling. It's bad, bad.

If you believe Nick Harris on the draft show, Taylor will fit right in here. Lazy and entitled.

I like Jackson Mitchell quite a bit. He has a good first step and fly's to the ball but he isn't good at shedding blocks. He is a Will LB in the NFL which the Cowboys already have. If it were merely for Special Teams I could see that. The Cowboys should be looking for Mike LB's in FA and the Draft, they don't have a single one on the roster unless you count LVE.

Taykor in the 2nd is a great pick.

The thing about Hampton is he was poorly coached. Like his brother.

I'd take M. Jackson from A&M over Taylor at that pick if he were still available.

Taylor is a talent, but someone is going to have to light a fuse and inspire that kid. I would stare clear of him.
