I saw this a couple of days ago...and it really doesn't surprise me.

My Cat Dexter...has gone toe to toe with huge Bucks in my back yard and they back down.

It's so funny to watch...they could stomp him to death...but he chases them away.

Those people are really stupid to be that close to the gators. They may be afraid of the cat but they could easily snap a leg off that boy or the man right next to the water before you can blink.

I don't think he is from NM...That is just where his job is right now.

But you are right. They can be extremely fast in short bursts.

I had a situation when I was young and fell into a pond off of a dock. Turned around and a Gator was coming my way (4-5 ft one). That gets your adrenaline going and is a good motivator to pull yourself out of the water. :laugh2:

This, but they will not go after that dude cuz he was out of there reach that they like.....................so they will just sit there waiting for u 2 get closer rather then wasting there energy chasing u.

Been around gators and crocs. A cat is a LOT quicker. Now if the cat gets careless its chow; but otherwise a cat really has nothing to fear.
