Below are the top receiving performances against the Chargers through the first five weeks (Los Angeles had a bye last week):

Week 1: Tyreek Hill, Dolphins, 215 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
Week 2: Treylon Burks, Titans, 76 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns
Week 3: Justin Jefferson, Vikings, 149 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
Week 4: Davante Adams, Rams, 75 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns

Lamb had Justin Jefferson-type production against the Jets. New York's secondary is notably better than Los Angeles'. Dallas' number one receiver has been underutilized the last three weeks. If this game is not an excellent opportunity to get Lamb back on track, no future game will.

Those guys got yards somehow, I bet Ceedee won't, I mean sure he may they like to have these talks with our WR's after they're upset with the QB, and he usually comes back and has a great game, but i'm not being suckered in. He'll probably have his first catch somewhere in the 2nd quarter

Great post. nice to move on to the next game…..just enjoy them and forget the last ones

We may get an opportunity to be a spoiler for some teams too as we’ve got enough talent here to be dangerous. I’d love to see CeeDee have a monster game this week. He started earning that #88 last season and I’m glad that he proved many of his doubters wrong…..me included.

Remember it took several games before he started to get hot, so maybe this season he needs a few games

I can see MM making sure that they get #88 the ball early and often. even if they have to force it with WR screen or end around

I think we can scratch CeeDee, because if this game turns into a shootout, it's over. Big Mac has put all his poker chips into a dominant defense, strong run game, and it's falling apart.

We could see him doing it every game, but why doesn't he? I bet if Ceedee were on another team, he'd be a leading WR right now

The pressure keeps mounting it seems to open it up, but MM was handed the reigns to simplify this offense and minimize turnovers/INTs.
Meaning that MM is under as much pressure as Dak is when attempting to come to terms with something that can work.
Problem is that this is just football, look at how MR Irrelevant Purdy Boy just reads receivers open, instead of blaming the OC and your own receiver for not getting open.
That is probably the most ignorant premise about this offense currently is the one being held by the stubborn still that its Daks receiving options are the issue.

I've said since last August that our WR corp isn't what people want to make it out to be....last year it was bottom 5 in the league.....not much better this year. Lamb is NOT a #1, and you know my thoughts going back to Brown last year and both Cooks and Gallup this year. Our WR corp is just bad....too small, not physical enough, and cannot separate. Lamb needs to be on the trade bloc...not worth the money....and possibly Parsons, if we want to be serious about drafting a real QB.

At least CeeDee leads the team in targets. Brandin Cooks should have his picture on a milk carton at this point.

Cooks has six 1,000+ seasons for four different teams and he's averaging 18 yards a game in Texas Toast.
I made this statistical point in the offseason, and I was dismissed as a narrative-driven Eagles fan:

Brandin Cooks has many 1000 yard seasons when he was the undisputed number 1 WR with a huge volume of targets. In the one single season before 2023 when he was on a team that a had a better receiver (Cooper Kupp), he had only 500+ yards all season in over 700 snaps.

If you’re not going to force feed him the football, then he’s more or less just a decoy as per past performance. And the Rams weren’t exactly a mundane offense.

I think Mike lets CD run a 10-yard bomb a couple of times this game as long as he promises to kill the defender if the ball isn't where it is supposed to be. /shrugs
