I saw the side of his left foot come in contact with the turf. Apparently that wasn't enough. I saw nothing beyond his hands and feet come in contact with the ground. He was buffered by Gilmore's body, which he rolled off with out any contact with his knees or elbows.I thought he was down because the back of his foot hit the ground. I thought the rule was that the receiver is down if anything other than the palms of his hands and feet touched the ground, but it appears the rule is that any part of the hands or feet is allowed.
