Charges dropped in ricin case; new home searched

JACKSON, Miss. -- Now that charges have been dismissed against the man accused of sending ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and two other politicians, the nation has turned its eye to J. Everett Dutschke, a former politician whose house was searched Tuesday by federal authorities for links to the case.

Dutschke, 41, of Tupelo, Miss., adamantly claims that he has nothing to do with the letters attributed to Paul Kevin Curtis. Curtis was released on bond before lunchtime Tuesday.

Curtis' charges were dismissed shortly before 6 p.m. EDT. Officials are expected to hold a news conference shortly.

Charges dismissed? That's kind of embarrassing....
They're implying that the guy may have been framed by this other one. The letters all were signed similar to how Mr. Curtis signed other things and used his initials.

And it's embarrassing if that is all they used to file charges.

Why they dropped them?

Pretty hard to detain someone who might be nuts and holding Ricin without filing charges, isn't it?
