Lions | Rogers Out for the Season - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 13 Sep 2004 09:51:32 -0700
Detroit Lions head coach Steve Mariucci said WR Charles Rogers (collarbone) will miss the remainder of the season following another broken collarbone. He'll need to undergo surgery on his collarbone, which may involve screws and/or plates inserted into his shoulder. Mariucci said the recovery period could be quicker than the previous one provided plates or screws are inserted, but he'll need a lengthy period of time before he's able to return. They're currently looking at a 12-to-14 week recovery period, and Mariucci said it would not make sense to keep him on the active roster for just a few games. Mariucci added that his previous collarbone injury healed nicely and is stronger than any part of the bone.
