The Chiefs have been playing in Kansas City since 1963, but there seems to be at least a small chance that the team could be on the move at some point down the road if an upcoming sales tax vote doesn't go their way.

During a recent interview with KSHB 41 in Kansas City, Chiefs president Mark Donovan was asked what the team's plan might be going forward if the sales tax fails, and he said a relocation would certainly be on the table.

If govt at any level gets tax rev....it gets spent, with expectations of yearly 10% growth.

??? The Chiefs want a tax kept so it can fund a portion of their stadium renovations.
they really need to .. .its' totally ridiculous to expose fans to dangerously frigid weather where amputations has to be forced.

A successful SB winning franchise does not have the revenue to build a retractable dome stadium to better protect it's club, players, coaches and devoted fans ?

You can come back to Dallas. (Chiefs were originally the Dallas Texans) We'll have two teams here one winning Super Bowls.
They could throw jerry and his family out of the NFL and let KC take over the stadium. I'd miss the stupidity of the team and family but I could live with it.

Jerry and family can move to Mississippi and start a new club and join the XFL.

I take issue with teams holding cities hostage to pay for their stadiums. Numerous economic studies have shown that publicly funding stadiums is a massive loser longterm for the municipalities involved.

Teams should be financing their own stadiums not asking for handouts.

It will suck the life out of a lot of longtime KC fans, but if I were picking a city for a franchise, KC would definitely be at the bottom of the list.

It's just spilled milk talking about the taxes and owner responsibility, rich always get richer, nothing will change. Have to fund it or they're moving. They have all the leverage.

Maybe the league and the individual owners should kick a % of revenue into a pool that every team can then access for low interest loans to fund stadium improvements.

NFL revenue in ‘22 was 18 Billion

800 million dollar renovation, and they want tax payers to pay 500 million of that. Clark Hunt is worth 2 billion.
