When is Jerry going to get Chris Canty a long-term extension? No idea, but I do know that he is deserving of one.

Here's Canty talking about a bunch of stuff on Sirius Radio today..

This is a solid kid and I really hope the Cowboys find a way to make him happy with a new contract.

He deserves a new contract and his play will continue to improve I believe.

He sounds like a down to earth young man. I do like him and hope he keeps getting better and stays a Cowboy. On a side note, I bet Gil feels like a ******* asking Chris those first 2 questions and having Canty respond "No. Not really.":laugh2:

Canty is such a REFRESHING breath of fresh air. Of course, his attitude could be the result of being humbled after dropping in the draft and being selected in the fourth round. It doesn't really matter. This is how he presents himself publicly and I'll take it for granted.

Here's a guy with obvious talent who hasn't yet signed that first 'big' contract during his career and he's remaining low key. Modest. Respectful. He could certainly teach a few veterans, who have already signed large contracts during their careers, a thing or two about not being disgruntled.

As Brandt predicted, Jerry Jones should eventually offer him a large contract. If he continues to play as well or better than he has so far, he'll deserve every penny, whether he's wearing a Cowboys uniform or not.

That's a Virginia boy for ya! :D

If we have a good year I think Canty will go to the Pro Bowl. Even if we don't have a wow year, he may still go. He's that good.

I agree with the rest that he deserves a new deal.

Hopefully Jerry will pull one of those mid-season surprises and get him done.
