You might wanna mix in a '72 Dolphins team.

The most overrated team in the history of pro sports. They wouldnt stay within 3 TDs of any team on that list

The 5 best teams ever IMO:

1: 1992 Cowboys
2: 1984 49ers
3: 1978 Steelers
4: 1994 Cowboys (I really believe this was better than the 93 or 95 teams, damn you Barry Switzer)
5: 1989 49ers

Don't blame Barry for that Ernie Zampese offense, Jerry hired him for Troy's benefit and Zampese not only failed in Dallas, but failed in New England with Bledsoe as the qb too.

That was mediocre team that won most of their games by 1 or 2 points. It was a down year for the NFL, so somebody had to win.

Exactly, the Dolphins were also in one of the worst divisions in football and they stopped winning when the other teams in their division moved up to mediocre status, see the 80's and 90's.

totally agree with you and madden. Everyone says that mcchoke was great b4 terrell owens(im doin a bp by the way, im not callin him TO) but his QB rating wasnt that great at all!!! he never had a 90+ rating i dont belive

What's amazing is that before Owens, McNabb's QB rating was a 79 in all of the years he played with the Eagles. The highest season QB rating he ever pulled before Owens was 86. Then in 2004 he posted a 104 QB rating. Not to mention he was a career 56% completion QB and in 2004 it jumped to 64%. Hard to write that off as just a coincidence.

Rich......

He just said the teams of the 90s....SF and Dallas..those were the best teams ever in an era....

I wouldnt include SF in the 90's - we took them out and then giftwrapped the one they did win in the 90's.

I will give SF the 80's

i think that team is a little overrated because they had no offense besides sweetness

I agree. I think the 85 Bears were most similar to the Ravens winning one with Trent Dilfer. The Ravens didn't have Payton, but the Bears didn't have much else.
I thought it was a down year across the league that year.
No way the '85 Bears stay on the field with the early 90s Cowboys teams. Too much balance on both sides of the ball.
