He was still performing until nearly the end. Because it was science fiction he did not get the credit he should have got for his role in Star Trek VI.

I would have love to have seen him and Khan go at it. Talk about an epic battle of all time egos and evilness.

Plummer had better roles that he was not either nominated or won awards for but I still consider 1999 as almost a criminal slight upon his talent. He played CBS journalist legend Mike Wallace in The Insider for that awards season. Plummer gave a wonderful and striking performance but both the Oscars and the Golden Globes did not nominate him for Best Supporting Actor.

Another actor did get the nod over him in particular, eleven year-old Haley "I see dead people" Joel Osment. Yes. Osment's performance was very memorable, especially for a pre-teen, but come on...

Whatever. Rant over. Plus @JohnnyTheFox already beat me in posting the one video I really wanted to add with my comments too. :p

Knew he hated that movie the Sound of Music. But had in the warming up to yet there in his latter years. Great actor. 91-Years old is a rarity. RIP!
