Just received notice from Google that they are now openly offering Chromebooks for $349. They include internet access.

I believe it includes only 10 MB of data per month. You must pay for additional data. I forget the price. A normal user would burn through that amount in less than a day.

I'm excited about the product. I'd consider one, as long as normal MS software is compatible.

Here is the email I got. There is a buy button, but it's directly linked to me so I didn't include it. You can go here and get one though if you're so incline.

It seems to me if a tab/pad device just isn't enough, this is the answer. Best part about it is I don't think you have to pay for your wireless access like tabs/pads

Chromebooks now available
You asked to be notified when Chromebooks became available. We're pleased to inform you that they're available starting at $349.

I'm actually interested in one, but I have zero desire to pay yet another mobile internet bill.

I don't care how this gets sorted out, but I really should only be paying for one internet account that should cover all my devices.

The G3 version *includes* 100Mb of Internet access a month for 2 years.

Of course, 100mb can be burned quickly with a full blown browser.

That is a good thing about having the ability to enable my Nexus One as an access point. Anywhere I have data services on my phone, I also have WiFi service for whatever device I need it for. When I was in Chicago I had my laptop. I enabled the access point on my phone and watched the Texas Rangers on MLB.tv with it.

Yeah, I refuse to pay AT&T's tethering fees on principel, but not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep that up.

I don't pay any tethering or access point fees.
