Maybe in a trade up early third round pick. Opinions. I think he would replace dak in 2024 and sooner if dak is injured in 2023 which we all know at some point he will be.

Dallas is NOT trading up into the third round for a backup/future quarterback, unfortunately Dak is the starter for the next two years atleast, if Dallas selects a quarterback, it will be in the six or seventh round..

I don't even see this guy in the top 100. At least not on the board I'm looking at. Besides, I can't remember Dallas ever trading up in the first two days of the draft. They don't do that either.

Clayton Tune is not leading a team to the Super Bowl. Don’t draft him

I see 5th round projections.

  • Under pressure abandons his reads too quickly and takes too many chances
  • Has only average athletic skills and at 216 lbs and 6-3 is a lanky prospect who may not hold from a physical point
  • Is mobile but not a big threat as a runner - his 40 time is decent he's far from a twitchy player
  • His arm strength is decent but he struggles on deep routes where he will need to put a little too much air under the throw
  • Inconsistent mechanics are an issue, though a correctable one.
  • Like all Houston QBs the inflated numbers are often regarded as more a product of the offensive system rather than QB play

I know it all depends on where the value is when we pick, but maybe we can draft a guy in the second round since we love to mess that pick up anyway. Find a guy who can develop for a year or two and hopefully get him ready to take over for Dak when he's called upon.
