Part II of our weekly chat with the National Football Post's Wes Bunting looks at nose tackle prospects and the thin classes at both strong and free safety.
Cowboys Nation: Let's turn to Cowboys needs and discuss some positions we've overlooked thus far. Let's start with nose tackle and interior defensive linemen. I've downplayed them because Rob Ryan wants guys who can play across the line, but this is a 3-4 team and will remain one if he leaves for a head coaching job. The next guy might want a more conventional plugger. Can you name some interior linemen worth tracking?
Wes Bunting: Sure, I just did a prospect of the day on Clemson's Brandon Thompson. He's a 6'2'', 310 lb. kid. He plays the nose at Clemson. He's got a good get-off burst. He can push the pocket. He can two-gap inside and fend off blocks. I see him as that type of guy who could give you some 5-technique on the outside but who is best as a 1-technique. He's can play on the nose as well.
