Coaching dilemma . What attributes should they bring

Do you hire a coach that fits the players already on the team, existing-system?
Do you hire a coach and then get the players that fit your system?
The dilemma is.
this is one of the first things some people probably think about when it comes to coaching attributes.
Try to remember when you were a little kid playing baseball
You’re in centerfield, do you want that ball coming to you? Do you say hit it to me hit it to me , or do you say oh please please don’t let them hit it to me.
My biggest attribute, would be confidence
That’s why I don’t believe in tanking
Confidence can take an average team and turn it into a championship. I truly believe it it’s about believing.

So my question is what is your best coaching attribute Contributing to?

Pretty much not using sabotaging tactics for some reverse psych attempt...

The Coaching has been awful for 15 years and this board makes weak excuses for...

We have to realize that these players in the league now are DIFFERENT than the ones of previous years, you have to coach a little different, and communicate with them differently. The rules and ways things were done now as compared to years ago are different via the NFLPA. With that said, I'd like guys that can relate to them, not the older coaches that are used to doing things how they did them in the late 90's or earlier. Bring in some young fresh minds that can coach these guys up, and NOT just be their friends!

Ignoring the fact that Jerry is doing the hiring, I think there are two things that Cowboys next HC has to be better at. Offense, and defense. LOL

Seriously, I think the next HC has got to be better at cleaning up the little things. More attention to the little details. Blocking the right guys on offense, every player doing his job. No stupid penalties that set the offense back in the red zone. Its the little things the Cowboys do not do that hurts them. It is about winning. He has to coach the losing mentality out of the Cowboys players.

This has to lead to more success in the red zone. Whatever it takes to score when they get the ball near the goal line, they had better figure it out. Going 1 of 6 in the red zone is not going to make any team successful.

The rest is on the front office. They have an undertalented roster that needs an infusion of quality players at certain positions DT for 1 and RB for another. But the WRs are not exactly scaring anyone either.

those qualities are what i hope for...whoever the hc will be.

we need the kind of talent here that other teams have that destroy us, I think about the falcons game the Shaeed guy, a BURNER, look at what the eagles have assembled on offense and the other teams the saints with their RB, the weapons teams have make us look like a joke

I know Jerry won’t allow it but they need a coach that will tune him out. Make the players afraid of the coach. Bring accountability. Toughness on both side of the ball. A Yes Man will offer no hope.
