Over aged with extremely short arms. I would be shocked if he ended up in Dallas before round 3.

Good option in the 2nd.

Looks like a mobile OT to OG prospect with good feet is just gonna have to get quite a bit stronger to handle NFL DLmen.

Mean mauler, athletic, great on the move, needs to add a few pounds and a little technique work, will be a better guard than tackle. He is in my top 5 guard wish list with Torrence, Avila, Tippmann, and Bergeron, none of which will likely be available at 90.

Needs work on footwork and has short arms would dictate a move inside. Plenty strong, did 29 reps at the combine Avila did 28 and Torrence did 23. Toughness and mean demeanor, good finisher and sustain on run blocks. would bring that attitude to the offensive line.

I’m lukewarm on him. He has really nice feet but needs more strength. He needs to play in an outside zone to be his best. Definitely not a gap scheme and really, there are better guys for an inside zone like Solari and Schottenheimer will run… although I’m sure some outside zone runs are going to still be in the playbook.

I’d be happy with him in the third round. IMO, there will be better players available at Dallas’ second round pick. Obviously, I want nothing to do with him at 26.

He isn’t bad, he just isn’t going to be the right guy for Dallas, I think.

I’ve been wrong before though, so you never know. These days, I trust the team’s evaluations, so I’ll just let them decide.

I think he will get mauled by guys like Dexter Lawrence, Da'Ron Payne, Leonard Williams and Jordan Davis. I don't think he's built well enough to anchor against the real heavyweights in this division. I'd stay away from him.

Nasty disposition, above average athleticism and strength, good frame. Love him in the late 2nd, but he won't be there.

The short arms complaints are comical. Lots of OL with the same arms, Skoronski, consensus top 10 pick being one of them. Compares favorably with Zack Martin as a prospect in almost every regard.

Jerry would love this guy he checks several boxes in Jerry's feeble mind. Mauch's no teeth and Nick Broeker's Gomer Pyle grin and Jerry would be in Heaven.

I saw from one media member earlier this year that they would primarily run outside zone. I searched to see if I could find it but did find an article on what schemes teams were running from 2021 which is just after Schottenhiemer was fired with Solari still there in Seattle.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

2020 Pass Efficiency Rank: 12
2020 Rush Efficiency Rank: 11

The Seahawks eschewed Brian Schottenheimer in favor of Shane Waldron, who they plucked from Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams to be their new offensive coordinator. Waldron can’t just come in and copy/paste the Rams' offense. He is confined by the elite yet mercurial play of quarterback Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks have already become a heavy outside zone team, as they finished ninth in usage of that run scheme last year. The run scheme and marrying the boot action to that run scheme won’t change, as Wilson excels when he can get outside of the pocket. What will change is the Rams' tendency to call quick in-breaking routes for Jared Goff. That’s not quite what Wilson wants to do. Wilson does not want to throw over the middle, so it will be interesting to see the give and take in the quick and dropback passing games.

He looks like the prototype offensive lineman from a 70's Steelers team.

Well, I don’t really trust a media member on that. It is likely that he said that because outside zone is what they primarily ran last year.

However, the team hasn’t just come out and said that they’d be running inside zone, so for all I know they could be planning on using more OZ. It would be a little surprising though because both Schottenheimer and Solari have run mostly IZ in the past, though they still used OZ at times.

They will use both of course, which is good IMO because the team does well with OZ too… but if I had to guess, I’d say schott and Solari will primarily use IZ. Also, the team has said it wants to have a power running game, which is more typically associated with IZ.

You could be right though. We will just have to wait and see I suppose.

But they did use a lot of outside zone at Seattle where they both were at most recently. It's also where the league has been trending according to the article I posted.

Yeah, they may do a lot of OZ, for all I know. But just like that year went against their history, they’ll be going against the grain a little if they do it here.

I don’t know if Pete Carroll had anything to do with running more OZ or if it was a shift in philosophy for them. I know the head coach can influence greatly what an offense does… although Pete has always been a defensive coach.

We won’t really know until we see it. The good thing is that the run game was good everywhere they’ve been. And speaking for myself, I like both IZ and OZ.

This article, from PFF as the one you posted was, is from February of this year, when Dallas made Schottenheimer their OC. In it, they say:

Interestingly, Schottenheimer's presence as offensive coordinator could push the Cowboys to make “inside zone” their primary run concept rather than the outside zone variation the team has leaned on heavily in the past (though Dallas employed a steadier diet of man/gap concepts in 2022 than in the past). Schottenhimer's Seahawks ranked third in inside zone rate (41.1% of called runs) during his tenure, while the Cowboys ranked 19th (20.0%) this past season.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-what-t...eimer-as-dallas-cowboys-offensive-coordinator

So, while at Seattle, the Seahawks ran the third most IZ in the league. Which is historically what he (and Solari) has done.

So, while we don’t know how much Dallas will run an IZ and how much they’ll run an OZ… it is probably safe to bet that they’ll be doing a good bit of IZ.

Like I’ve already said though… they’re going to run some outside zone as well.
