Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles suffered a high left ankle sprain in yesterday's 19-16 overtime victory against the Steelers at Giants Stadium and it's highly unlikely he'll play on Thursday against the Cowboys, according to someone who spoke to Coles after the game. That person spoke on the condition of anonymity because he's not authorized to speak on injuries.

Coles, who has a team-high six touchdowns, was injured on a 56-yard flea flicker on the second play of the game when he was tackled by Steelers CB Ike Taylor on the one-yard line. Coles (one catch, 56 yards) returned briefly and eventually went to the locker room with 6:58 left in the first half. He tried to return for the third quarter but was forced to the sidelines for good after pulling up lame on a deep ball on the third play of the quarter.

Great...

His sub will come in and scorch us for about 150 yards and 2 TD's because we'll focus totally on stopping the run.

Coles is VERY tough. Perhaps the toughest WR in the league. He rarely misses games so I wouldn't count on him being out.

He's already missed one game this year due to a concussion. In fact, this week was his first week back.

Jerricho Cothery is the Jets go to guy at the moment anyways and he's underrated IMO. He's capable of putting up some really good numbers.

I am worried about their return guy (Leon?) Washington. Our special teams coverage, although improving, stills concerns me.

I did not see any improvement yesterday. That was sad, I don't think we held them under the 30 more than once.

We have to get that straightened out - it is killing us!

Losing Coles hurts them quite a bit.

I think the short week and the emotional win will be tough for them as well.

Except when I start him in my fantasy football league.

I'm hopeful in the fact that if we can stop Devin Hester, we can stop Washington.
