The Sweet Sixteen Round begins. The poll allows for a maximum of seven choices, so pick a single winner of each pairing.

The poll would not allow for the more options. Post your winner between Orion (#15) and Hulk (#2).

Which version of Thor? Cause Thor with Odin's power would probably trounce most of the list (Due to his powers considered being "magic," Kal El would likely not win (Much less Jon Kent) ) Thor without his fathers mantle would struggle against a lot of them. Captain Atom or Spectre would probably win overall (from what I remember of all these characters).
yeh I think I'll always stick with the Mighty Thor I initially grew up with and loved ,.. the Thor/Donald Blake version.

I still get lost on all the Beta Ray Bill, etc, etc.

Thanks I see the strength link but JHMO, i think DC contestants will only stand a chance if it's the more popular names ala Batman, Green Lantern..Black Adam, Wonder Woman, Lobo,.Aquaman , Flash,..Hawkman ... and drum roll please ... .." Etrigan the Demon .. ( oh yes, i had to say him) .. ;)

I love Bruce Wayne/Batman maybe more than most. However, I would think most (if not practically all) fans would agree he would have zero chance going solo in a one-on-one strongest or death match tournament like this. I say 'death match' because the idea for all this came from a TikTok I posted on March 13 (link).

CBR had Black Adam, Wonder Woman and Lobo in its DC's top sixteen strongest hero characters. They were listed in the tournament seeded according to CBR's top 32 overall.

Aquaman (CBR #21) and Hawkman (CBR #25) were listed in the article but did not crack the site's top sixteen heroes. On that point, I (just me of course) mostly agree with CBR. Of those two, I would only see Hawkman possibly beating out Orion from their select sixteen but not as a sure enough thing to side with Hawkman completely. Both he and Aquaman could take Damage (Ethan Avery) by simply staying in a fight for longer than one hour in my opinion.

I am right there with you on Green Lantern and Flash. Their omissions are one reason why I do not completely agree with CBR's rankings. Both could have been easily substituted for Hourman, Steel or Grant Emerson (the first Damage) as far as I am concerned. Plus, I would kick Orion and Apollo out of the top sixteen in favor of both of them.

Hero definition is my other problem with CBR's rankings. They even stretch the term 'anti-hero' in my book. Loose Cannon? OMAC? Bizarro? Get real CBR.

Their lists, including their strongest Marvel list, is geared more towards whose more powerful out of ALL characters without being restricted by a hero label. Yeah. Oatu is a GOOD guy but is a Watcher a hero in the same sense as other superheroes?

I close my rant with another pet peeve about CBR's DC list. Technically, they were right to include the Shazam family but c'mon. Shazam and Black Adam should have been enough of a representation of Shazam powered representatives. Was it really necessary to include the WHOLE brood too?
