The Washington Commanders could be looking to hire Jim Popp, GM of the CFL's Montreal Allouettes, the Montreal Gazette reports.
The North Carolina native was the Baltimore Stallions' assistant GM in 1994 and 95, when the CFL had some U.S. franchises.
Popp is entering the final year of his contract with the Allouettes, the Gazette reports, and his home is for sale. Meanwhile, coach Marc Trestman signed a new contract in December that takes him throught 2012.
“Jim might be ready to make the move," an unnamed source told the newspaper. "It depends on his relationship with the owner. He does a great job and, to lose him, would not be good.
