Same old Commanders. Instead of cutting dead weight and starting fresh they now have 3 washed up RB's.

At least the RB's have huge names

Filed to ESPN: Commanders reached agreement on a one-year deal with RB Willie Parker. Deal has a maximum value of $3.1 million.

Commanders pick up Willie Parker
Posted by Michael David Smith on April 2, 2010 3:14 PM ET
The Washington Commanders are about to add another running back to their already crowded backfield.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Commanders reached an agreement with free agent running back Willie Parker. According to Schefter, it's a one-year contract with a maximum value of $3.1 million.

The Commanders already had Clinton Portis, and in March they added Larry Johnson. Now they have three running backs who have been among the best in the league in the past, but who appear to have lost a step.

Although Commanders coach Mike Shanahan has suggested that he expects Portis to keep the starting job, Schefter reports that Parker has been told there will be an open competition for the starting job.

Still waiting for Peppers to be a Commander?

Uh I guess you missed the 10 players released? Come on man, get your facts right.

Parker, a 1 year deal.

The signal clearly being with 5 picks Shanahan doesn't want to draft a RB

of course not, there is no way a RB in the first 4 rounds could top the production the Skins are looking at now.

Is this thing on? :p:

Commanders agree to one-year pact with Parker, giving them three RBs

Associated Press

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Commanders have added another veteran running back to their roster, agreeing to terms with Willie Parker on a one-year deal.

Parker agreed Friday to a contract that could be worth as much as $3.1 million with incentives.
The Commanders already have 28-year-old Clinton Portis returning, and they recently signed 30-year-old Larry Johnson to a three-year, incentive-laden deal.
Parker's agent, Douglas Hendrickson, said the Commanders have told his client that "it's an open competition for the starting job."
Parker, 29, played six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning two Super Bowl rings. He has three 1,200-yard seasons, but he ran for just 389 yards last year as a backup.

Wow.. A surprisingly smart move by team that has become known for idiocy in free agency. That's a very good pickup for them. I guess the new GM is settling in nicely & Danny Boy is leaving him the hell alone. :)

**** 'em! Wade Phillips has already prepared plenty of his defenses to deal with that dope Shanny's schemes.

Except now, Shanny has a team that is about 1/4 as talented as Wade's team.

I'm not worried about those DC boys at all.

Heck, I'm still waiting for them to score a TD on us. They Never reach the endzone last year in both games against us.. Let see, my offense sucks, we can't score and we only won 4 games and was shut out in the Div and at home against the Boyz. So, I think I'll sign LJ, Rex Grossman, and Glassman Willie Parker. Yep, that should help our sorry offense.. OMG!!!!:lmao2:

I think it was technically the red zone as well, I know at least in the first game, dont remember to well with the second. But at least one of the games was the Skins didnt even make the red zone.
