I went to the below link to compare Brooks pro day to those top OL at the combine.

http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2012...e-tape-for-guards-and-centers-making-sense-of

DeCastro and Zeitler were the only players to meet all the metrics.
Lets see how Brooks compares.
Brooks pro day #s
40 time: 5.00 and 4.98, I will use the 5.00
20 yard Short Shuttle: 4.52
3 cone: 7.42
Bench: 36
Vertical: 32
Board: 8'9"

Explosion(bench+Vertical+board) anything over 70 is great
DeCastro 71.7
Zeitler 69.5
Brooks 76.9

Laterial(40 time-short shuttle) over .50 is great
DeCastro .87
Zeitler .78
Brooks .48
if Brooks ran DeCastro 40 time of 4.53 his laterial time would be .91

I don't understand the laterial time. If you have a bad or average 40 but a good or great short shuttle then it helps you but hurts those like Brooks who has a great 40 and great short shuttle.
DeCastro ran a 5.43, Zeitler ran a 5.39 40.
DeCastro has a 4.56 short shuttle, Zeitler has a 4.61.
Brooks had a 5.0 and 4.98 40 time and a 4.52 short shuttle, both better than DeCastro and Zeitler.

The site says a starting OG should have a 3 cone less than 7.84
DeCastro 7.30
Zeitler 7.77
Brooks 7.42

The site says a starting OC should have a short shuttle less than 4.69
DeCastro 4.56
Zeitler 4.61
Brooks 4.52

Cool info, thanks!

I like all three of these guys. If we can just get one of them, I'd be happy.

My favourite is Zeitler, though

I agree, if we can get two of them that will be an amazing draft.
Brandon Brooks may have jumped into the 2nd round but if he is there in the 3rd I would trade up for him. He has the size to be an anchor and has great laterial movement and speed to be able to pull and get to the 2nd level.

Zeitler can play OC or OG, Brooks can play OG and in a few years move to RT if needed. We all know DeCastro can do anything.

The real questions is: Does he love football and does he have the desire to excel?

I would hope any player in the draft would say yes to that question.

I'm sure they would, too! :laugh2:

No one is going to say that they are going to dog it once they get their money. Except, of course, Jacob Rogers.
