Wonder if your laser/optics are screwed up.

Have you tried using one of the CD cleaning discs? The ones you put in your drive to clean off the lens?

when you went to device manager did it have a yellow ! or a red ? next to the name

I don't have one of those...I'll buy one and see what happens. The thing used to work just fine, and I have not used it in a long time. Now, that I tried to watch this DVD, nothing.

I used it to download almost all of my CD's to my Ipod, so I don't know what happened since then.

sounds more like the drive is just dead or dying.

Was thinking the same but figured it would not hurt to clean it first before spending money out for a new drive.

Hmm. Can you open a Windows Explorer Window?

Go to: Start Orb
All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer

On the left, find your CD/DVD drive and click it. What happens? Does it open up anything up on the right side displaying any files?

Holy crap!

I went to the Device Manager, clicked the cd/dvd and then did a driver update and it now works fine!

How does a driver get all jacked up like that? To much porn? ;)

tupperware, I got your PM, and thank you, bro! You are a good dude and you need to hear that.

Thanks for everyone for the help!

(stupid cowboy fan)!! Yeah, me!
