This disappointing performance in the Divisional round, especially Dak's poor play, must be stressing Jerry and his son out. Of course, as the kind, good, and empathetic person that I am, I can't help but feel concern for them. Here's what I think they should do: Go on a nice, long vacation. They've got the bucks. They could visit all those wonderful, tropical islands around the world, and just relax and take it easy. I hear Tuvalu Island is great. They should go there, and to wherever they want, for a long time. A nice, VERY long vacation, not just a year, maybe like 5, 10 or 15 years.

Of course, they'll have to hire a highly qualified GM to run the team in their absence. Hire someone who really knows the game inside and out, and will be in charge of whom we hire as coach, whom we draft, etc. The Jones won't have to do anything. They'll be drinking Margaritas on Tuvalu.

Of course, I'm only suggesting this for altruistic reasons. I'm concerned about Jerry's stress level. That can't be good for him. He needs a nice spa treatment and massage on Tuvalu. I would never suggest this with any kind of ulterior motive. Nope. This is all out of the goodness in my heart. I don't like seeing a person get stressed out. It would warm my heart to know that Jerry is de-stressing and enjoying life on Tuvalu. A side effect might be that our qualified and motivated new GM builds a great team. Hey, that's just gravy. It's not my real motive. Nope, I would NEVER have an ulterior motive. Our of the pure kindness deep in my soul, I hope Jerry gets a LONG, great vacation with loads of relaxation and enjoying life.

Jerry really doesn't look good. He should hire a quality GM just for his own well being.
He is gm by title only. He doesn't know enough to be an actual gm. He might make the final decision, but he isn't the one putting in the work of evaluating players.

If Jerry was doing all those things, we wouldn't have nearly the roster we have now. It's one of the best rosters in the league. There are 5-10 qbs that could take this team to the Superbowl.

He never did know enough to be an actual GM. People have been saying that for years. Overevaluating our talent is what we do. We get enough players to compete for playoffs but nothing more. Wouldn't surprise me if next year we regress. That's usually our motto. This year was actually an exception. Don't think our offense is that great. Defense was surprisingly good. See how they do without Dan Quinn.

How concerned are you for them when they sit around and count their millions?

They don't really care about winning. Its more of a preference than a personal creed. They would "prefer" to win but they have proven over the past 27 years that they are unwilling to do the work required. So, rather than huddling with the scouts and familairizing themselves with the college crop or the the veterans likely available who could address areas of need on the team........... or establishing the relationships with other organizations required to wheel and deal, they will get on their 250M Yacht and let other people do the work......... returning at some point before the draft to take credit for anything good and deflect crticism to others. Thats who they are.

And you missed his. Jerry and Stephen aren't stressing. I bet Jerry's money on it.
You both missed my point. I was being sarcastic, pretending to be concerned about their stress level when what I really want them to do is hire a good GM and butt out. Did you really think I thought they should go to a tropical island for 15 years?

I wish people would quit complaining about ownership. It isn't changing. Unless the plane crashes and literally the entire family dies it will be owned by a Jones for the rest of our lifetimes.

Jerry's yacht cost around twenty million dollars a year to maintain. Crew, maintenance, fuel and JWB.

They'll take their annual yacht vacation the first week of free agency as they always do. That's when those nerdy GMs get started, like they have a job to keep or something.

I always had hoped that when Stephen takes the reigns of this organization that he would hire a GM. I am not confident he will anymore... the Jones family will not turn the family business over to anyone and Stephen is an enormous penny pincher so there will be no impact signings in FA.
