Witten got his second season with more than 1000 yards receiving. His line this year was 94 catches for 1030 yards for 11.0 ypc and 2 TDs. He was second amongst TEs in catches to Dallas Clark and 3rd in yards behind Gates and Clark.

Witten previously reached this milestone in 2007 with 96 catches for 1145 yards.

He also had two narrow misses in 2004 with 980 yards and 2008 with 952 yards.

He now has 523 catches for 5965 yards.

He is also still only 27 years old and still won't turn 28 until next season's TC.

So what you're saying is he's declining, and nothing without T.O.?

:D

Many considered this a "down season" for him. What a complete beast.

So happy for the guy cause he's absolutely one of my favorite Cowboys players of all time.

Another great season by the best TE in football.

When he's involved in our red zone offense, I dont think we have the problems we've had earlier in the season.

Crayton should send Witten a thank you card for his TD today.

He drew triple coverage on that play.

Witten = Hall of Famer.

Witten < Cosbie < Dupree < Novacek.

And that is SAYING something!

Witten. Wow. We are blessed to have him.

I'm sure Witten and Crayton could give a crap about who scored. This is all about team play right now.

You completely missed my point.

Best TE in football. He is the complete package....Blocking CHECK, Catching CHECK, Toughness CHECK, Heart CHECK. He is everything we need in a football player and boy do I love me some J Witty

What is not to love about Witten? Not only is he the greatest tight end of my lifetime, but he's great off the field. He's from my mom's old hometown of Elizabethton, Tennessee and does tons for the community in the offseason...even helps with his old high school football team in TC. How lucky we are that he fell to the 3rd round...just goes to show you what a crap shoot the draft can be. Even luckier that we had Parcells and Ireland to find these cultured pearls we watch today.

I can't remember the details but a significant faction of the war room wanted to draft Witten in the second round but Parcells took that Center who turned out to be a JAG. We lucked out when he dropped to the top of the 3rd round.

Parcells nearly cost us both Witten and Ware in the draft. It was also Payton who really got Romo on board. It does look like Parcells was the guy who got us Austin.

Should've paid attention in school when his teacher drew alligator teeth on the carrots. :laugh2:
