A lil' background for anybody that may care. I'm not much of an NBA fan although I'm now a Knicks fan since Melo is with the team. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of basketball, but the pro game doesn't do it for me that much.
With that, I lightly follow along. Watching some ESPN News, reading the paper, reading the internet, etc.
I've always been a fan of Mark Cuban. It always amazes me how the media would take him to task. Here's a guy that completely rejuvenated a franchise and made it into one of the most popular in the league. Judging owners like the Maloofs and Donald Sterling, the league could always use more Mark Cubans.
But about 2 years ago I read an article from some hack named JFE who titled the city of Dallas 'Loserville' because of the lack of success that the Cowboys, Rangers and the Mavs have had.
Even if I wanted to explore that remark a bit, I found that to be harsh to say about the Cowboys. They are not exactly the Rams or the Raiders or even the Chiefs over the past few years. But, I found that ridiculous about the Mavericks.
453-195 (.699) from 2002-2010. And yet, they were a part of 'Loserville?'
But really, it just came off as a shot at Mavs fans for supporting the team despite that 'stupid owner' and that 'soft team leader.' From every Mavs fan I ever came across, their support was unwavering.
So I just wanted to say that from an impartial observer...good for you. Glad the Mavs took the title home to Loserville.
