A lil' background for anybody that may care. I'm not much of an NBA fan although I'm now a Knicks fan since Melo is with the team. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of basketball, but the pro game doesn't do it for me that much.

With that, I lightly follow along. Watching some ESPN News, reading the paper, reading the internet, etc.

I've always been a fan of Mark Cuban. It always amazes me how the media would take him to task. Here's a guy that completely rejuvenated a franchise and made it into one of the most popular in the league. Judging owners like the Maloofs and Donald Sterling, the league could always use more Mark Cubans.

But about 2 years ago I read an article from some hack named JFE who titled the city of Dallas 'Loserville' because of the lack of success that the Cowboys, Rangers and the Mavs have had.

Even if I wanted to explore that remark a bit, I found that to be harsh to say about the Cowboys. They are not exactly the Rams or the Raiders or even the Chiefs over the past few years. But, I found that ridiculous about the Mavericks.

453-195 (.699) from 2002-2010. And yet, they were a part of 'Loserville?'

But really, it just came off as a shot at Mavs fans for supporting the team despite that 'stupid owner' and that 'soft team leader.' From every Mavs fan I ever came across, their support was unwavering.

So I just wanted to say that from an impartial observer...good for you. Glad the Mavs took the title home to Loserville.

Eh? You became a fan of the Knicks because they got a ***** bag of a player? A wussy boy who hits someone then runs away like a scared little girl?

How in hell does that happen? :laugh2:

I think you need to switch to Sanka.

I think he's right. This guy plays no defense and whined until he was traded. The team he left became better. The team he joined will rue the day.

College championships aren't as impressive.

That was not the point of my original post. Not even close.

Thanks for the fans' congrats, YR.

As for the Melo love, I assumed (hoped?) right away that you must have Syracuse ties.

Thanks.

That would be correct. He's actually a good guy as I have close ties that know him personally. Not a big fan of LaLa Vasques though.

No he is not. Everything he does says he is a ***** bag. From when he hit Mardy Collins and then ran like a girl across the court so he didn't get his *** kicked, to the threats he was throwing around to force the Knicks to trade for him. Claiming he was going to sign with the Nets. He would have NEVER signed with the Nets. The guy is of low character and a whinny punk. I can keep naming ***** bag things he has done too if you like.

He is a straight up ***** bag and there is no denying it. Maybe you do actually know him and that bias has clouded your vision. That doesn't make it not true.

I dunno man I'm a Mavs fan an impartial to Carmelo, I think he's overrated but I don't think he's a total dbag or anything even though I booed him every single time he touched the ball when they came to Dallas a few months ago.

Anyway thanks YR as a Mavs fan I appreciate it. Nice to hear somebody outside of Dallas congratulate the Mavs, mostly nobody is giving them any credit.

Your saying he wasn't being a dbag when he hit Marty and ran like a girl so he didn't get beatdown? It's on tape. He is a dbag wuss.

Wasn't this a " Congrats to Mav's fans " thread?

I must have missed that.

I don't understand how they don't get credit. I'm not an avid NBA follower, but the Mavs are a fun team to watch. If I had a kid who was a point guard, as long as he wasn't going to be a tall point guard, I'd have him watch and learn from Barea. It's nice to see a guy like Kidd 'know his role' and take a huge step back from his offense and still be a great defender. Terry...well, anybody who can talk smack to Lebron and show him up is cool with me. Really like Chandler in the post. Cardinal is sorta comical to watch, so anything good he does is like a huge positive.

It is a reason why I hate the word 'choke.' It makes the team that won seem lesser because 'the other team choked.' I never really understood that when the Red Sox beat the Yankees and their fans kept saying the Yankees choked. Why diminish your team's victory?

The truth to me is that the Mavs were a better team from head to toe, had a better coach and in general...wanted it more.
