You do not need a “top ten” QB to win games in the regular season. Brock proved you do not need a “top ten” QB to win in the postseason BUT winning the turnover battle is still the biggest indicator of winning football games when there are turnovers.
The defense played as well as they can be expected against that offense on the road. Without the two unforced turnovers and assuming Maher makes the field goal to end the first half, this team wins 15-12 or goes to overtime.
The Cowboys did not play the best team in the league, and SF defense has proven they can give up way more points (at home) than they just gave up to Dallas - with worse offensive personnel.
Yes, the team is stuck with Dak for the next two years but can make plans for his exit. I said earlier in the season they did not need Dak currently to win games. That stance holds-this team can beat other lesser teams with a host of QB’s in the regular season.
Dak is just another guy not good enough when facing the best teams in the biggest moments. That to me is the definition of non-franchise material. Beating Tampa Bay was nice-I said so-and before the game I said the game was not a defining moment because the Bucs are a bad football team currently and it was a wildcard game. The bar is whatever you set it at-Dak reaches what he is capable of reaching. If you are satisfied enough for the team not making plans to find someone better then you are part of the problem in Dallas getting past this threshold.
