I'm going with Cooper Rush all day.
I've never done a complete turn around on my evaluation of a player so fast.
I wanted Cooper Rush gone, like away from the team. And now look at what he's done. It's amazing. And I can only credit it to him.
But guys like Tyler Smith, Zack Martin and even Terrance Steele, have really stepped up as of late.
But who has really stepped up? Mike McCarthy. The way he's made minor tweaks and simplified certain things really has been something that not many are speaking of. Jerry said after the game it would be an injustice if McCarthy didn't get the job next year or something like that after the post-game interview.
Also, credit to Kellen Moore for taking the back seat and allowing McCarty to do his thing with the offense. Moore is talented. And I'm a big Kellen Moore fan, but I also know his weaknesses. Overall, though, he's been great games 2-4.
And the defense, well, nobody needs to point that out. They are amazing.
I will say this about Cooper Rush, he's in tune with his own team. And the team plays for him. That, and everyone says he can't make all the throws and that he isn't athletic.
He looks faster on the field this week. He must be doing sprints in practice, because on that roll out to Gallup, he stepped up, then darted out to be in the right position to make that throw on the run.
So while he can't throw those darts, on an out route (although maybe give him one more season), but he can make all the correct throws. And that's really all you want. The guy is a brilliant player.
Smart players always win over the more athletic ones. Almost always.
