Yeah, yeah, we're running the "Texas Coast" offense — whatever that is.

Is it a coincidence we ended up playing the Jaguars in the first preseason game?

The Cowboys took a play or two from the Jags last year, after they beat us; I expect they'll do some of that this year as well.

Pragmatic Offense

I like the WCO offense stuff, and I see how the 9ers have success with it. But I want to be able to adjust to teams, and just do what works, and be able to play the style that works against any situation. I like that there's some excitement in the air and mystery about this new offense. Not having the same players . . makes us less predictable. It has more firepower potential with guys like Cooks, Schoon, a sophomore Ferguson, Vaughn, year 2 for Turp, Pollard coming back healthy, a Michael Gallup with a year behind his injury, maybe Stephens makes the team. That would look like a new offense.

Adjust, adapt to the situation, and most of all, be pragmatic. That is what I hope to see from McCarthy's offense this season.

9ers and Jags running a Dak friendly offense?

I agree the ability to adjust and adapt to the situation, and be pragmatic, will be important. For example throwing the ball late when were ahead instead of running out the clock like we did last year.

I want one of the Shanahan prodigy offensive coaches to be in Dallas. The system is simple but complex that requires detail execution. And it's pretty much a QB less system

They tested that theory in the playoffs against the Eagles

Yeah,
Just not a WCO guy. I enjoy traditional downhill run concepts that this team has succeeded at in previous years.
I think any high volume pass philosophy will fail with this team.

Just my opinion.
McCarthy's the SB winning coach.

We are definitely seeing a lot more quick slants and in/outs. The circle route for RB on display had me excited given it counters well with the wheel route. Nice change from the dump off to the flat exclusive attack of the past decade.

The positive sign is that MM is making more use of his overall personnel, backs should be more involved in the passing game, giving Turpin some play with the offense, etc. Rub routes, screens will not be scarce in this offense.

As long as it means Dak has less need to process and it gets the ball out of his hands fast.

Watched a Youtube clip yesterday, and Cowboys averaged something like 2.7 seconds to pass PreSeason Game 1. That was 3rd or 4th lowest in NFL that week, AND with Backups. So there you go.

Guess what they were last year.

This means nothing from qb to qb this will vary and there is no guarantee that your starter will be any faster.

What you are asking for isn’t realistic and there’s a reason nobody in the nfl does it.

A lot of quick passes that create YAC opportunities, something that just didn’t exist in Dallas the last 15 years sadly. I’m excited to see the starters running it

Or running the ball on 3rd and 2 in near the endzone.
