After causing us to lose to Washington and then almost against SF, any thoughts on how much longer Cortez has with the 'boys? I figure they are bringin in replacements today and he has until Thursday to clean out his locker.

Thoughts?

I'm no Cortez fan by any means but how did he almost cost the Cowboys the 49ers game since the missed extra point was a horrible snap that was rolled back to Romo?

i think everyone from bill down would like an upgrade but who?

Ahhh..I am east coast here so I didnt get to see the game..I'll give him one more week. Still upset with him about the Washington screw up though!!

Cortez is Larry Allen lil girl now... so Cowboys just might keep him since Larry Allen going to make him make all of his field goals...

The day Larry Allen rips one of his limbs off.

Kudos to LA for showing he cares. Anybody ragging on LA needs to be in Cortez's place and let LA get a piece of them. He's a kicker. Man up and do what you need to do to succeed. And I don't want to hear "what about those holding penalties LA makes." He's trying to protect his QB and stop 300lb guys from defending the play ... Cortez is trying to kick the ball through the uprights .... no comparison.

a kicker should be able to make a PAT even if the ball is laying flat on its side.

HE IS TERRIBLE..

he will be cut this week

also, his kickoffs are TERRIBLE for a KICKOFF specialist

I personaly like Cortez, he’s a pretty tough guy. He has some additude and doesn’t seem to be afraid of tackling. Until someone else comes along that is clearly better...we have to keep him.

that was cool, get your blank together!

Its just plain wrong to pin the loss on Cortez or the missed extra point.

I like his toughness, and I bet Parcells likes it too.

Maybe if the damn holder would get the ball up so the Cortez cold get the kick off that would help. Not sure if it is the deep snapper the snap look very low on both punts and kicks or Romo who has a hard time srtting the ball. 3 thing happen to make a FG, Snap, hold and kick not just 1 thing!!!!

Yeah, that's why he's been trying to get rid of him since training camp

I'm no big fan of Cortez but in the Commander game, that was on Glenn/Roy Williams. As for the SF game, the snap was bad and kickers generally don't like their timing disrupted.

Let me get this straight. He can't kick to save his life and blames referees and bad snaps for his ineptitude. But gosh darn it, he has moxie and will tackle.

Sounds like a great reason to keep him.

I would as soon cut him yesterday and give the Suisham fellow a shot. Couldn't be any worse of a kicker.

We wont get rid of Cortez, Parcells will just keep threatining that he will be locked in a cage with LA after every miss. Cortez might end up the best kicker the boys ever had.

Cortez does not have to blame anyone if you have eyes it is not hard to see that he is dealing with bad snaps and bad holds.
