Blaine Gabbert - QB - Player NFL Network's Jason La Canfora proposes that the Bengals pass on their pick at No. 4 overall, allowing their 10 minutes on the clock to expire.
This is assuming the Bengals aren't sold on Blaine Gabbert, whom La Canfora insists Cincinnati should pounce on if they believe he's a franchise passer. La Canfora senses that at least one of A.J. Green and Julio Jones will be available at eighth or so overall, and by passing the notoriously tight-fisted Bengals could save money at a lower-slotted selection while still getting their guy.

Seriously, worst idea ever. If you don't want to pick until later, trade down. You might not get great value for it, but it's better than just passing. So dumb.

Duh, this was also during a segment where he stated a team can not trade out of the top 10 and it's never been done.

There's no way this happens. Has any team ever done anything like this? Heck I'd like to see a list of the times that a team has ever even missed the time limit to make a pick.

Vikings missed twice in a row in 2003. Their 7th overall pick got kicked back twice to #9 since two teams ran to the podium before the Vikes could turn in a card.

sure enough. It wont catch the headlines his Bengals comment did because it was it was said in the middle of a debate regarding his Bengals comment on a web discussion. If I recall it was actually Walter Cherepinsky from BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1 who he was having the back and fourth with at the time.

Whoever they pick will still demand #4 money. Agents are funny that way!
