The Cowboys have P’d me off and frustrated me so bad that they have ruined one of my favorite things which is the NFL draft.

I know nearly nothing about the draft. I’ve watched 0 minutes of players. I know nadda.

Could someone give me a briefing of how the:

In general the draft is looking?

Who the Cowboys are looking at?

Some players to maybe watch if for some reason I can stand to think about this team longer than 5 minutes.

It is a very deep draft. Lot of last year's seniors took another year because of covid.

Talent everywhere except the QBs are suspect.

Dallas has looked at

Kenyon Green OG Texas A& M

Sam Williams DE Mississippi

Dominic Roberson DE Miami of Ohio

Lucas Krull TE Pittsburgh

Look at my " Timb2 NFL Draft 3-19-22" . I have a lot of the players videos to catch up.

Not a year for the BIG superstar names. That doesnt mean there are any that wont turn into superstars at the next level.
But as others have stated , this is a very deep draft with quality down the levels.

My main area of focus ..RB's ( Ive watched maybe 60 vids of players ) lol busy Saturday night. Im no pro scout but , man, theres a lot of potential at Rb.
Wr too, along with Lb I think

  • DT
  • Many fans love the over-rated DT Jordan Davis because he is 341 and ran a 4.78 forty; however, he had the worst game stats of the 1tech types and appears lazy.
  • DT Travis Jones appears to have the Cowboys interest and is mocked in the 2nd round in the majority of mock drafts at CZ. Appears doubtful he'll be available at #56.
  • There will be repeated posts about needing a mammoth type 1tech DT.
  • OG
  • Fans and media believe the Cowboys are most likely to draft a Guard in the 1st.
  • Kenyon Green: Likely OG only
  • Zion Johnson: OG with possibility to play OC.
  • Tyler Smith: Raw but higher upside at both OG and LT.
  • 2nd round: Maybe Tyler Smith. Another option is college RT Darian Kinnard who looks like a solid option at OG.
  • OT
  • Trevor Penning - If he is available at #24 would likely be the BPA.
  • Bernhard Raimann - Likely late first early 2nd round. Good game footage but he got whipped by Mafe in Senior Bowl drills.
  • Tyler Smith has more physical talent that most if not all OL in this draft but he basically has no developed technique (Small college, young OL coach).
  • EDGE
  • Sam Williams - There is a video of Dan Quinn working him out.
  • Boye Mafe - Terrific athlete. Seems raw despite 4 years in college. Game footage is up and down.
  • Both could be off the board at #56 but would be considered reaches at #24.
  • LB
  • There are many options at LB between the Cowboys 1st and 3rd round picks.
  • Damone Clark (one of my favs) will miss the season due a neck issue found at the combine.
  • Nakobe Dean could go in the top half of round 1 but could fall to #24 due to size (5-11, 229).
  • - Dean is a terrific player but the trend for off-ball LBs is more towards 6-3; whereas 6-0 was average a few years ago.
  • TE
  • Not really a 1st round worthy TE in this draft. Trey McBride is the top TE which likely causes him to be over-drafted a bit.
  • There is a group of 6 or 8 that all have some bright spots and all have some warts.
  • Jelani Woods has become a fan favorite relative to his 4th/5th round draft projection. He could easily end up going earlier.
  • I like Cade Otton as a good receiver and good blocker. He has a thicker build than most of the others.
  • WR
  • Fans and media are all over the map on who they like.
  • This draft appears deep at WR but not as wow at the top as some other years.
  • I'll be surprised if the Cowboys draft a WR in the top 2 rounds that is under 6-1.
  • Safety
  • There is 1 Safety that most fans/media like as a late 1st or 2nd round pick, Daxton Hill.
  • - At 6-0, 191 with 4.38 speed he looks like a CB.
  • - In college he played up near the line either in an SS or Nickel CB alignment but size projects to FS or CB.
  • Wildcard Jerry Moves
  • Edge Rusher David Ojabo tore his Achilles at his Pro Day.
  • Some fans think the Cowboys will draft a Kicker.

I am very pleased how things are working out so far. The Cowboys have done a good job by signing 14 free agents so far and should be a clear favorite to win the division again. Going forward they have 9 draft picks in a very deep draft class. The draft is strong between the 2nd and 5th rounds. The Cowboys will be able to pick up good players throughout the draft and have some money to sign more free agents as needed.

In the draft I think they will be able to get a starting left guard and receiver and actually upgrade at tight end. I would like them to trade down and pick up and extra pick and draft receiver Christian Watson from North Dakota State. I think if they did that, they still could get a decent guard and edge rusher Sam Williams from Mississippi. At tight end I think they have a good shot of getting Jake Ferguson, or Jelani Woods, or Charlie Kolar. They could get one or even two of these guys in a very deep tight end class.

One guy that I am pounding the table for is Houston cb Marcus Jones. He is the best kick returner in the country and he can play offense and defense. He would be an awesome player to add after pick 100.

They could add a linebacker in the draft as well. Some guys to watch are Chad Muma, Quay Walker, and Troy Anderson. Some defensive tackles to watch are Travis Jones and John Ridgeway.

I think that with the wide receiver market out of control with the money that the Radiers and Dolphins are spending. It will be a good idea to snag another good one in the draft. My guy is Watson but there will be other good ones available as well. You will see the Packers and Chiefs snag at least one of them in the first round. Maybe the Chiefs will give the Cowboys pick 29 and another pick to move in front of the Packers. The Cowboys should get some decent offers for pick 24 because there will be a lot of good players available.

Do you ever try to go to a site like this?

2022 NFL Draft Big Board | Tankathon

It at least gives you an idea of who is considered higher, and a highlight vid is attached to most players.

We need a kicker how about one of those 5th slush fund rounds

Official visits are slowly starting to be announced. Combine interviews showed a lean toward OL and offense in general. Starting to show interest in DE's, in particular Sam Williams.

I know exactly how you feel. Been there, and acted on it more than once.

I felt that was my middle finger flip to Jerry in a way.

All it really did was make me know the league a lot less than usual.

It's a very very different thing when you're watching only for our picks and not knowing who went too early or is slipping etc. Takes the fun out of it almost entirely.

I'd end up asking myself things like 'how did Houston end up with this stud Hopkins out of nowhere?'

It ended up proving nothing or changing nothing as far as self pride and how much I can't stand how this team is run.

I'm trying to split the difference this year by at least knowing names of guys that should go early.
