Happened in my junior high school. Tina McVicker, certainly not an attractive girl, was a hero amongst the girls for dating a 28 year old. A lot of the girls at my junior high dated guys with beards who were at least 4 years older.

I meant the father of her first son, isn't he still alive?

Drug addiction, mental illness, arrests, custody battles with her mom, abusive relationships (the father of her first son tried to choke her to death), a boyfriend that committed suicide. Mindy had a life of turmoil. May she rest in peace.
