courtney brown

I can tell you right now that it won't happen, Wade sees him as a FS, and has said as much

Not going to happen. Seems to have more potential at safety anyway, if you listen to the coaches.

Better believe given our CB problems, that if Wade saw any chance Brown could help out at CB he'd have moved him over there.

true sago, but i am beginning to wonder, maybe courtney brown is one of those players, that dont play good in practice, but in games he does, like franco harris did.

since, we are having so much trouble at cornerback, why not try courtney brown in certain situations, weve got nothing to lose, I say try him at cb.

remember, best i remember, courtney brown covered james jones at college, and did a decent job, shut him down.

remember how people here were talking about Brown being our next #2 CB?

Who is James Jones? Is he a stud college reciever? I've never heard of him.

James Jones is the awesomeness, we should trade for him right now.

I don't think Brown is going to make this team. I thought he could have an impact looking at his measurables and stats during college, but it doesn't look like he has it as this point.

I know it is after the fact, but who was the CB in the Supplemental Draft that some were raving about? I wonder how he is doing this preseason.

I'd at least play him at cb in the game and see how he does.. At this point I'd be willing to try anything, hell, I'd even try Stanback there.

Hmm.. that came out as a joke but now that I think about it.....

i have to admit that i have been confused by the fact that Wade has put Brown at FS and said that he would have to make the team that way.

Which seems like a tall order from the beginning since the best he could do is be the 3rd string, which at FS means he would be on special teams all year and never see the field on defense unless injuries came up.

I guess i would like to at least hear some more reasoning from the coaches as to why Brown HAS to be a safety and cannot be a CB, does he lack speed? lack flexibility? I realize that he did college ball at lower competition, but as i recall in scouting reports at the draft that the QBs he faced in college avoided him his last year b/c he could shut the WR down.

I trust the coaching staff obviously and respect their opinions on the players, but a little more detail as to why he's a better safety than corner would be nice.

I'm pretty sure he's at safety to give him the best chance to make an impact this year. If you go back and read some of his interviews, he states that he has never really been coached to play cornerback (technique-wise). And the footwork required to play safety is much easier than corner.

I basically see him as at best a nickel free safety this year. If he's on the roster past this year, he may get a look at corner.

He's also the fastest gunner on kickoffs. He's about 3-5 yards faster than Watkins on that 60 yard dash. He's also forced a couple wedge guy to block him a couple times, which isn't really in the job description of gunners.

I would sit Henry out this game and let Glenn and Joey Thomas have at it (Brown could be in the mix)

We need to start preping a third guy here seriously, just in case. (unless Jones is planning a trade of some sort)
